The nicest lady is the host, not very much english though. Great location in town across from the Terra Nostra. Free parking close by. Pool in the summer looked nice.

The location was beautiful and our host was warm friendly and extremely kind. During our stay at Pedro’s do Mar the night before our stay at Quinta de Santana, our daughter became violently I’ll after having eaten at Pedros do Mar’s restaurant. Pedros do Mar was unwilling to let us check out late but our host at Quinta de Santana came to our rescue and allowed us to check in early. We cannot thank him enough for his kindness. This speaks to the personal touch offered by an independently run business vs a corporate run hotel. I also appreciated our hosts ability to speak multiple languages. When my Portuguese failed my I could revert to English or French.

Location and room were great. Everything was very clean.
Wonderful place to stay in Furnas! It is quiet, but 5 minute walk to everything. Below is our itinerary for the three days we stayed here:
Tuesday, July 4th

Evening- Dinner at Mirando (Civado Stew is delicious and pudding/chorizo)
Wednesday, July 5th
Monring- early breakfast and hike Salto de Prego
Day- road trip to Nordeste, beaches, miraduros, hike, tea Plantation Gorreana
Evening- hot pools at Breija and A Quinta outside for dinner
Thursday, July 6th
Morning- hike waterfalls at Gena (go before 9:30 so not crowded)
Day- Lunch and hot pools at Terra Nostra Hotel and Gardens
Dinner- Tea at Chalet Tia Merces, sunset at Mirador Pico de Ferras (amazing)

Beautiful destination full with bubbling hot waters, "jurastic" parks, hot thermal baths and potable springs. Do not miss to see how the Cozido is cooked on the hot waters and to taste it at Miroma restaurant or Tony's. From here, go to the free of charge park with nice waterfalls Jardim Botânico da Ribeira do Guilherme. On the way back to Ponta Delgada, definitely make a reservation to Centro de Interpretação Ambiental da Caldeira Velha and visit the Gorreana tea plantation if you like.

Beautiful spot was pleasantly surprised by the amount of things available in the local shop, we had a perfect kitchen for cooking so we didn't get to eat and can't comment on the local restaurants.

Furnas is a a great location to visit when on the island. Beautiful town and the seeing the calderas is a must when there. The gardens are beautiful and great for an extended walk. Eating the cozido from the volcanic waters was a highlight. Very good!

Furnas has a lot of interesting features- gardens, thermal baths, spa, Cozido meal, and restaurants.
It is easy to walk around
It is also handy to a lot of the other places . Sete Cidades was about the furthest away and took about 1 hour .
We really liked staying in one spot and doing day trips from there .
We ate at Tony’s right in walking distance both for our Cozido lunch and another evening for dinner .

Our in town stay in Furnas was just right for us but 3 days (vs. 5) would be sufficient if time was an issue. We did not have a car and took a taxi from Ponta Delgada (45 Euros) and everything in Furnas was within walking distance of our Casa Alivas unit including Furnas Lake, the fumarolas cooking cozido (local stew), Parque Grena and Jose do Canto forest garden & waterfall located around the lake (about a 45-50 min walk from town center) . Additionally, Terra Nostra Garden was 2 blocks from our accommodation as well as many "discoveries" just walking through the town area including a cascading waterfall & aquarium at a local park where you can put your feet in the warm water, the steaming thermal calderas at another part of town, many restaurants, fruit shops, markets, & stores along with several historic buildings and sites. The bakery/cafe of Gloria Moniz (2 locations--go to the one called "Bolos Levados") is not only helpful & friendly but provides an excellent opportunity to try local tasty treats while enjoying an outdoor garden setting. Bolos Levados are a local Portuguese sweet muffin good for sandwiches or toast. Must try.
We like to hike and walk so exploring Furnas was a worthwhile part of our 2 week adventure to Sao Miguel.
Nice location in Furnas, it's a building with 2 holiday apartments. The apartment was cute and cozy, great to stay in and relax a bit, but perfect location to walk around Furnas or pop over to the hot springs. Kitchen was well stocked and some basics (oil, salt/pepper) were left which is nice if you don't mind using what is on hand for a few at-home cooking moments. We loved the balcony and view of the taro root farm and spent some nice time reading and drinking coffee there while taking in the views.
Our group of four adults (two couples) spent 4 nights in this lovely split-level house. It had the kitchen, living room, patio and a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor, plus two more bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The hosts were very gracious, showing us around the house and giving us restaurant recommendations. They also left us some cookies, chocolates, jams and cheese from Terceira as a welcome gift, plus bottled water, tea, coffee and sugar. The house was quite spacious and comfortable.
This hotel is located on the outskirts of Furnas and overlooks the town itself. Easy walking distance to the main attractions: Terra Nostra gardens, Poca da Dona Beija hot springs, restaurants like Miroma (serves an exceptional cozido das Furnas), & Calderas Square (Largo das Caldeiras).
Spotlessly clean, has WiFi, a pool (which I didn't use with hot springs so close by), and a bar. The 10 euro additional charge for breakfast (which they warn you in advance about) is well worth it.
The location was excellent for access to the sites, resturants and village of Furnas. It was very spacious apartment with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed and furniture. We had a very late arrival and the host asked if there were any items, like food and drink that they could get for us to make out arrival better. They supplied us with the items we asked along with some additional snacks and a bottle of wine which were greatly appreciated.
Well represented, easy to find, well located. Apartment was very clean & spacious and had a great little patio. Kitchen was well equipped. The owner, Pedro, was very responsive and added thoughtful touches such as fresh fruit basket on arrival, fresh milk, fresh bread rolls each morning and pods to make coffee. Groceries, restaurants and sites within easy walking access. We would definitely recommend!
Great location in Furnas with stunning views. Lovely, clean, spacious house with excellent facilities. Great to have a new washing machine which is also a tumble dryer. Covered outside clothes line, great to have given it rained when we were there. Flexible check in with clear instructions on how to access the house. Very helpful and accommodating host.
The staff goes above and beyond to make sure that your stay is enjoyable - very professional hospitality. The gardens and thermal bath were amazing, and all the food was spectacular. Lots of nice to have amenities in the room (towel warmer, light switches for other lights near the bed so you don’t have to get up, etc.). A very classy hotel all around.
Breakfast is simple but good, staff is friendly if you're friendly yourself. Could park my e-bike at the entrance, that was a nice gesture. Got locked out of the hotel one day after coming back after midnight, but could just ring the bell and they buzzed me in. It was a good experience, overall.
great location, just next to the Terra nostra park. The room had a nice balcony overlooking the mountain. The room itself is modern, nice bed, there were tea bags and biscuits :) the hotel has the washing machine and the dryer, which is very convinient. the host was very responsive.
The place was beautiful. Nice and clean and the check in process was very easy. It was the perfect place to stay in Furnas for our small group. And the host was extremely nice, making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay.
Incredibly beautiful one of four very well designed houses, garden with beautiful views, good breakfast and friendly atmosphere. And Furnas - a beautiful town with hot springs and many other attractions.
Kind staff, super clean hotel (rooms, common spaces...) so thumbs up to the cleaning staff, breakfast fantastic, great location in the center (however calm and with parking possibilities).
Great location, in the centre of Furnas. Close to restaurants, supermarkets etc. Clean! Nice couch and big TV with Netflix etc to relax or to enjoy on a rainy day.
