Not really developed yet but moving quickly. Stayed at edge of a village so saw real village life barely touched by tourism. Would have liked some independent restaurants. Need to drive to get around. Take plenty of cash as atm far and few. Beautiful island well worth a visit for a short stay.

There are certain tourist spots like Angels Billabong and Broken bay that are extremely busy which spoilt it for us . Atuh beach was quieter and better for us . Most probably better as there is a walk with steps that people would see as a deterrent! Nusa Penida is fabulous. The day trips to beaches, snorkelling etc are great. The village environment is not so commercialised yet. The island is large and attractions are spread far apart. If you are not confident on a scooter on small, bumpy, potholed roads with steep inclines then play it safe and get a car & driver. The cars/drivers are great but expensive compared to Bali. There is no Gojeck / Grab available. Remember the climb down and up to Kelingking beach is "tough"!!! Get to attractions early....joining the tourist ques is no fun!JeffAustralia

They were very helpful in knowing when our boat was arriving and also arranged a free pick and drop from the harbor. also they had a ready driver available at the hotel which you can pay for your visits around the island. also they have scooters for rent available if you know how to ride one.

It’s a beautiful jungle oasis, so peaceful and yet still only a 30 minute scooter road to most of the attractions. The person in charge, Wayan, is always so friendly and helpful. He arranged a lift for us to and from the harbour, scooter hire, manta ray snorkelling tour, and delicious food from the hotel restaurant (the fried rice is so good!) Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting the beautiful island of Nusa Penida.
