Charming small town, slightly off the tourist beaten track, this isn’t a bad thing! Plenty of temples to visit. Relatively easy to walk to all the main sights. People are very friendly. Some lovely places to eat in the town. There is a rooftop bar at one of the hostels which is a real hidden gem.

You don’t need more than 2 days here.
You don’t need more than 2 days here. We took the train from Bangkok and arrived around 3pm. Checked into our hotel and hung out. Then the next day we did a full day tour which our host set up for us and then we left the following day. It was the right amount of time because there’s not that much to do here.

I take photographs of wildlife, monkeys and monks, temples and people. So Phetchaburi kept me occupied for 16 days - I can't understand why so few people get off the train. It is just the right size to walk around, although Thanyachatra is just off a busy road that is not very easy to cross (but no traffic nose at the hotel). The locals are wonderful and once they had got used to seeing me around, I found that those who spoke English were keen to chat and helpful. The town is full of wonderful schools and happy, smiling and beautifully turned out children and teenagers.

Me and my wife reached the property at 2:30 am at night.
Me and my wife reached the property at 2:30 am at night. We were shocked to know It was not a hotel rather it was some club. Only one security guard was their..
He refused us the entry in the club. We called some manager of the property after taking contact details from the security guard.. he refused that we don’t have any booking anywhere. WE TOLD HIM OUR BOOKING DETAILS OF BOOKING.COM and requested him to understand our situation as I was accompanied with my wife and 2 year daughter. Where will I go? Ultimately, he refused and asked us to leave the premises.
We requested our taxi driver to help us their after in finding some other room.
Can u imagine such a horrible incident.
Banthai guesthouse is a lovely traditional wooden Thai house set in a small but beautiful garden situated up a small quiet lane in the heart of Phetchaburi. It was a pleasant and relaxing place to stay. Free snack, toast, fruit and yogurt, breakfast listening to the birds. This was a small city break for me…I enjoyed wandering around the interesting traditional shops and temples.
There are only a couple of parking spaces at the property so best to book if you need one.
Fellow quests were quiet and respectful. I slept well
The two sisters who run this place are amazing. they will help you with everything. they even adjusted the bikes so that our 5 year old could come with us on the bikes as well.
the location is perfect, just outside of town. 1 kilometer from the delicious night market, a must go!
the rooms are big enough and really clean. the garden setting is nice and if you do want to swim you can go to a lovely beach 15 km away. highly recommend staying here. oh yes and the breakfast is unbelievable!!
Big clean room with friendly staff and equipped with everything we need. Their location was only 5 min ride to the main attractions. They also have big parking space with roof for each car right in front the hotel. Plus, we got free ice-cream per person for every night at the hotel. I was travelling with my partner and my family. They all seemed to enjoy their stay. I booked the wrong date and they let me change last minute. Definitely recommend!
The facilities were extremely clean. Owner was very kind, respectful and helpful. The old wooden traditional house is extremely authentic and reminded us of the Jim Thompson Museum in Bangkok but without the antiquities. The breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade banana muffins. Best place in Phetchaburi. Excellent quality /price. Kind owner who deserves 5 stars .
Suck a beautiful and friendly atmosphere that makes to feel like you are home and not staying in a hotel. Service by the owner was super friendly and made our short stay memorable. Small hotels like this are the back bone of the travel industry and big hotels could learn a lot about service from the owner of this property.
We could use bikes for free, which was very pleasant to explore the city and environment (the cave is an absolute must, only 10 minutes away by bike). The owner was super helpful (ea with providing a taxi). The rooms are big and clean and have very good facilities (mini bar with snacks at super reasonable prices).
Local Breakfast is good, location fit to your city trip, bicycle is available for your short trip route around the city. Parking is good and safe since it is close to front office of the hotel. the open air is good for nice weather in the morning.
We weee really comfortable at this hotel. Large room, very light as full wall windows, comfy bed and good bathroom.
The lady on receipt was lovely and very welcoming.
A breakfast of toast, biscuits, tea and coffee was a bonus.
The staff are so awesome. The nicest people so far on my trip. So helpful. Borrowing bikes and riding around town to the summer palace and the caves was really nice and relaxing after time spent in Bangkok.
It was clean. A noticeable effort to decorate and not make it look junky. Everything organized. Host was most helpful in getting us bus reservations and a ride to the station. Much appreciated.
As a hotel expert, I suggest you take care of the mini bar fridge. Also, it is written on the site that there is a tail in the room, while there is no foot tail in the room.
Location, not too far from city center, surrounded with many places to visit. Very friendly and informative staff. Good rooftop view. And free bicycle rental for guests.
Very nice small- 3rooms- hotel with view of historic mountain. Short walk to town. Can walk to cable car to tour mountain palace, temples. Love the top deck.
Staff were really helpful, arranged tuktuk for us. Room was clean and quiet. Close to several good restaurants and tourist attractions. Great value for money
