Beautiful snorkelling and diving. Great small village with good family run Warungs, adequate shops and a decent road that’s quiet by Bali standards. Very friendly locals who arent too pushy like they are in the South.

Right place for adventure type of tourist as it's quite place. My fav place is Virgin Beach that has clean and white sand.
The minus thing is the transportation. No online gojek but you can rent bike for about IDR 60k /day

Brilliant place to learn to dive (61 dive shops), highly recommended Ocean Dive League very experienced, very supportive 5 stars definitely. Can do awesome dives, 2 shipwrecks, coral garden etc.
If you love luxury over character I don’t think this is a place for you.
Easy to do day trips and get a personal taxi driver. Food was good. Lots of fish and eggs! People extremely kind, helpful, accommodating. Not really a place to go clothes shopping.
Definitely would go there again.
Only negative thing, so much rubbish everywhere, on the beach, in the water, on the streets. Saw a washed up dead pig on the beach!!

I would suggest 2 nights 3 days max if you are not a diver.
I would suggest 2 nights 3 days max if you are not a diver. The group I was with just snorkeled and 3 days was ample. The Snorkling was amazing and free the best I have done in Bali without paying a fortune . The trip to Amed was a tour within itself seeing the different demographics of Bali , long but worth it. I would rather look at the mountains and villages from a car and take in scenery than sit in terminal, boat for 3 hours till snorkeling tour starts.

Amed, great for diving, snorkelling and fishing .
Amed, great for diving, snorkelling and fishing . Calm ocean also good for swimming . Very chilled atmosphere plenty of beachfront accommodation bars and restaurants. Amazing sunrise and sunset on the beach. The the majestic Mt Agung as a backdrop.
This accommodation is exceptional for its location by the beach. After a few meters of swimming, you immediately see corals and many fish, turtles, and ninja shrimp under the water. You can snorkel all day and still see something new. The staff is very accommodating, friendly. The breakfasts are excellent. Beautiful clean pool. Beautiful tropical garden. The resort is small, but perfectly adequate. The journey from the hotel to Dempasar was also excellent. We had a stop at the rice fields. Beautiful Balinese nature in the rainy season.
The hosts, Ni Putu and I Ketut, were amazing! Extremely accommodating and they really go the extra mile to make me feel comfortable during my stay. The view of Mount Agung from the inn was breathtaking, right at my doorstep, so every breakfast felt so rejuvenating. If you need laundry service or a motorbike rental, you can get assistance from Putu and Ketut -- they'll arrange it for you. In fact, Putu even arranged for me to have my full body balinese massage in the comfort of my own room!
lovely property and comfortable accommodations with friendly and helpful staff and delicious breakfast included in the price. the pool was an added bonus, as well as having the beach just steps from my room. the property is beautiful though it is a bit far from central Amed (which I knew prior and which was a perk in my opinion- super peaceful setting!)- however there are some good restos nearby and it is very easy to rent a scooter either at the hotel or a short walk away.
very nice place, reminds me the movie eat pray love haha but a bit wild. it’s in the middle of woods if you are okay with some “pet” visitors so no problem. I’m too afraid of insects and stuff so owner was really kind and put me in his second hotel bali sari homestay. it’s very nice quite place right at the beach. I love it. so depends on you I recommend both places but for different people :) owner is very good person and very kind. helping with everything, respectful
If you're looking for the best quiet place in Bali, go to the Amed and stay here in De Adema. We decided to stay here longer ( I think many guests do it) because we fell in love with these amazing views on volcano and snorkelling with turtles and fish. Delicious breakfast, which you are able to book till 12 o'clock (great choice for a late person). Cleaning is everyday, no need to ask for it. Staff is friendly and helpful 🙂
I had an ocean view room next to the ocean view pool for very cheap. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They rented me a scooter for $4/day. It was a perfect location for snorkeling with good sites in walking distance and a short drive. And it's where the Perama Bus drops you off from south in Bali, no taxi necessary. One of my favorite places I've ever stayed.
Awesome infinity pool, and very well maintained garden on the premise. The villa has a small kitchen, with stuff for cooking, and even a blender. There is also a medium sized fridge. The furniture is pretty, with Balinese motif. I appreciate the owners fpr providing a big water bottle with water dispenser on our request, as we hate to buy bottles and contribute to pollution.
Beautiful view, right at end of the beach, good food, lovely room, super nice staff, amazing snorkelling steps away, gear rentals on site.
Perfect location for me (with a scooter); just outside the noisy central area but good restaurants and views in walking distance. Easy trip either into Amed or to Lipah area (which I love)
I extended twice and stayed over 2 weeks.
Remote area of Bali which gave a really traditional feel and being away from tourists for a while was a real blessing.
The staff were all so friendly and were so kind and willing to take us round Amed on their bikes.
Went out fishing on a traditional boat and fished by hand which was such a unique experience! Highly recommended even for young travellers!
The best place to stay in Amed (and probably all Bali) is the best location, right in front of the underwater temple, crystal clear water, the family here is amazing, I'm solo traveling and they made me feel like part of the family and got me involved in their activities. I will come back soon for sure. I recommend this place 100%
Amazing hotel, behind our expectations. The view is outstanding. The balcony has some sofa beds which are absolutely perfect to relax and unwind.. The staff are so friendly.
Breakfast is so good and tasty.
Love that's away from amed center and close to Lipah beach which is amazing for snorkeling.
Highly recommend this hotel.
I loved my stay here. Best place so far during my Bali trip. The staff is the best. Room is clean, comfy bed, equipped with all you need. Good Location in Amed. Loved the garden.
If you need driver from airport or some where else in Bali they are happy to pick you up/drive you to a good price.
I will for sure come back!
Beautiful ocean view and right across the street from the beach. Host, Katut was wonderful and very helpful to arrange motorbike rental, snorkel rental and boat to Gilis. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was so comfortable and the lockers were very big. One of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed in, in Bali.
Very cozy homestay directly at the beach. Everything was nearby (restaurants, shops, bars). Very lovely family who runs the homestay and the balinese breakfast was always very delicious. We enjoyed our stay so much and can recommend it to everybody who wants to visit Amed.
One of the best hotels which we stayed at Bali.
Nice facilities, excellent sea and coral garden which you can snorkel straight from the beach,
Comfortable bed,
Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
You can rent a scooter from hotel for 70000IDR per day.
Bali Bhuana Cottages, especially the 'bungalow' rooms, are great value for money - big, comfortable with a private sitting area. The cottages are located right on the beach front with Lipah Beach being probably the best beach in the 'Amed' strip.
