The room is spacious and convenient for 3 guests. I guess is the stop over for people driving in from north or south like us. Decent hot shower with good amenities.
The breakfast is mostly Thai style and quite a good one.
Staff were vigilant and friendly.

This is a gem in Ranong. There is another great hotel, although we liked the Farm House the best. The facility is clean and easy and the food was fabulous...get the breakfast!

Ranong has much to offer, three hot springs in the area you can access by renting a motorbike, or renting a car, or hiring a car or see-lor (truck) with driver. Two of the hot springs are relatively close proximity to Ranong Town. The weekend street market, closed to vehicle traffic, is charming, with tradition old style ways of cooking desserts and savory dishes. Along with this plethora of different types of street food, are local street buskers, who know and play their music well. What is especially touching and memorable about Ranong, are how open and caring the locals are. We have visited three times, and are looking forward to our next return.

Like what they say, Ranong is biodiverse.
Like what they say, Ranong is biodiverse. We saw a place where there were hundreds of fireflies. It was very beautiful. We stayed most of the days (lockdown) in Koh Payam. It is an island with beautiful beaches, hornbill birds, otters and of course snakes. It is worth the lockdown days. We love it there. There was an old woman who almost adopted us because she's very kind to us. and for advertisement her place is Maronee Guesthouse. Such a kind-hearted woman.

First time here and have spent only a day before departing on live aboard dive trip. Very pleasant, quiet and affordable location. No hassling or bustling traffic and hawkers here. Definately a cool and relaxed location and one can enjoy oneself here. More over a launch spot to Myanmar and the islands here. Will investigate the region further afield on our return to Ranong after the live aboard.

We did not plan to go there.
We did not plan to go there. We cancelled our trip to Vietnam due to the Covid-19 situation. I also needed to make a Visa run so we decided to spend our 5 day vacation in Ranong.
Getting around is a bit expensive. You will not see any tuk-tuks. Transportation is mostly by songtow, which is cheap enough in the city, but venturing out to the various attractions cost more. Mind you, it's all relative. We spent 1000 bt for a four hour trip to the national park by songtow, about an hour distance each way. The day rate was 1,500 bt.
The town is mid-size, not too busy. There are hot springs and a national park with a great natural beach (by that I mean not domesticated with resorts etc, - it must be awesome in stormy weather) not too far from town. The local food (especially the roti) was great. We went early March and the waterfall attraction was dried up.
The Visa run was an adventure. Take a boat (half an hour or so) across to the southern tip of Myanmar, pay 10 US$ to enter/exit, then back to the boat and return to Thailand (Ranong). 600 bt for the boat trip.
We enjoyed our time there, but in honesty, once was enough.

A Day Inn Ranong hostel is by far the best hostel I have stayed at in Thailand. The hostel is located in an excellent location not too far from Ranong port and Bus terminals, as well as being on a street full of many restaurants with all sorts of cuisine. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, going out their way for me twice to ensure excellent customer satisfaction. They even offered me dumplings while I waited for my bus the day after my stay the next day and they were delicious. The bunk-bed dorms are spacious, immaculately clean and quiet so you can definitely get a great nights sleep. The shared bathrooms are great and the showers were hot and powerful. The hostel itself has a really nice design and layout and is very relaxing whilst staying or working off a laptop there. There is really nothing bad I can say about this hostel and I will say again, the best hostel in Thailand!!!

Plenty to do from here.
Plenty to do from here. Easy to navigate around town but watch out for footpaths if raining; very slippery. Good choice of food venues and a couple good bars. Acces to islands but check around for boat prices.
Excellent location New and modern.... restaurant on site the pool was one of the best at a hotel I have experienced paddling pool for the toddlers separated nicely from younger children area four different levels of pool depths for intermediate to experienced swimmers nice little balcony outside the room to sit and enjoy the view very easy access from the main road but yet still very quiet E-Z Parking I almost forgot that the beds were super comfortable I slept very very well all nights we stayed
Appeared to be very new. Room was large, very clean, comfortable. I could have been in 4 star hotel in US. location was across street from market and the local bus stop in front made for good window watching. 7-11 a minute away and some decent restaurants a 15 minute walk to the right. We also walked to the hot springs.
Toast, coffee and tea in lobby in the morning. Rooms had teapot and fridge. Excellent stop for 2 nights in Ranong
Clean and minimalistic design. Hard (as in good for your back) bed, TV, AC, roomy bathroom. The Landlady is fluent in english and so friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned and prepared every da anew. You get served a delicious coffee. The hotel is offside the inner city and therefor nicely calm and silent. I rented a bike and get everywhere in a blink of an eye. I could go on and on. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Highly recommended!
The location is great. We were there 2 years ago, also. Nothing much has changed except for young locals "doing their thing" on the beach with the only place that sells beer. It is a Moselm area so no shops sell alcohol.
Very basic accommodation and far from anywhere.
We'd been there before and hoped it had gotten better.
Still a good stop off, timing-wise, between Ranong and Khaolak but we probably won't
go back.
Spacious, clean and centrally located in Ranong Town. Songtaews to local destinations leave directly in front of the hotel. 7-11, Lotus's & Watsons around the corner. A stonesthrow away from the Saturday evening walking street and rijght across the road of a big wet market with food options.
Characteristic building and lobby area.
it was steps away from the Ranong bus terminal and the owner was so helpful with everything. she sells boat tickets to various islands, bus tickets, taxi services etc. the hotel also has a restaurant which is convenient. the room was decent sized and the bed was comfortable. towels and water were provided as well
Modern style, new, clean and comfortable place to stay. Good location. Very well designed. Normally stay at hotels but a private room in this hostel might even be better :-) Rooms on the street look noisy but the street goes quiet quickly. Will book here again if in Ranong.
The breakfast mainly caters to Thai tastes but there's enough variety for everyone.
We like the fact that there's a restaurant belong to the hotel that serves excellent food for a very good price.
The hotel is situated in the town centre so easy to get around.
Middle of the "happening" street in Ranong. Walking distance to most places with motorbike parking outside. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Room was small and cozy with great amenities, TV, nice bed, hot shower, aircon. Will stay there next time for sure.
2nd time here, love this hotel. Walking distance from walking street. Comfortable room with all amenities you need. All day banana, tea, coffee, juice. Movie in the garden at night
All Good. I had to leave early to catch flight home so missed out on breakfast. Hotel staff arranged mini van to the airport for me. Convenient for eating establishments in town.
Good small hotel with friendly staffs. I think it run by the family. When we was there it under renovation but there was no problem since we always out in day time.
