Tulamben is a great, quiet place to stay if you like diving.
Tulamben is a great, quiet place to stay if you like diving. There are a number of diving operators based there. There are a range of restaurants assocated with the diving hotels, and also tasty local Warungs available for the more adventurous. I recommend a 3 night stay to enjoy the diving opportunities here. Tulamben is nestled between the rocky beach and the mountains and is very beautiful.

Go there to dive the Liberty wreck only.
Go there to dive the Liberty wreck only. The "coral gardens" supposedly off the resort are quite poor, Jemeluk is better. The food at the resort was excellent, but I was so annoyed at being given the wrong villa that I didn't eat there after the first night. This issue with the ocean view villas has happened to others as well- make sure you are given what you have paid for.

Tulamben is a dive resort town.
Tulamben is a dive resort town. You will mostly be interacting with other divers from around the world, dive masters, dive instructors, and dive guides. There are some very friendly and helpful store operators and some delightful restaurants but it has little to interest the general traveller. There is not much reason to come here unless you intend to do some diving or snorkelling on the many underwater attractions. You could also use it as a base from which to climb the volcano Mount Agung which hangs in the background of the town like a Damocles Sword.

Tulamben is a diving mecca with volcanic sand and many different dive sites. I only had one day, but I did three dives. I'll go back for more, as the diving is worth it. The reefs did appear to be very busy, but if you meet the right people, I am sure you'll get away from the crowds. I'd like to see more of what Tulamben has to offer.

Nice place for divers, snorkelers and swimmers.
Nice place for divers, snorkelers and swimmers. Very reach marine life. Get in touch with Yury Ivanov affiliated with Matahari dive resort. He is an expert on nudibranch and little creatures which are plentiful in area around property. If you are experienced solo diver staff may let you dive solo even at night. I did six night solo dives there.
-dedicated resort set up for diving so easy to wash scuba gear. Bathroom with shampoo and soap, hot water and a good water pressure, feels great after a dive.
-big rooms with plenty of space inside and outside to relax and a drying rack.
-all kept spotless by the hardworking team
-quiet location within walking distance to Liberty wreck
-appreciated to have a water filter, kettle, fridge and next door to indomaret super convenient
-good breakfast
Comfortable, quiet stay. Two pools. We stayed in the hotel unit and walked right out to our pool. Breakfast was good and could eat right on the beach. They have beach beds or you can just hang by the pool. Service at both areas. Dive and snorkeling right from beach. Restaurant was good or within walking distance to many other good restaurants.
Food was yummy and we can go anytime or order food anytime to the restaurant ( we don't eat so late anyway ). The property is well maintained and clean and I think our room is the best because it facing the sea and it has a big mango tree in front of the terrace that gives lots of shades.
And we did some massages... excellent.. !!!!!!
The diving set here is excellent
The host took good care of us
She helped us transport from uluwatu to their hotel and even booked tickets and transport for our later plans to gili island.
The diving guid , BOB, was so nice . Took a lot of great photos for us down the ocean
The whole journey was magical and beautiful
Mate, the driver, is awesome. He drove all day to show me the most beautiful spots. I was alone all day so I have a private driver. He picked me up from Tulamben and took care of all of my needs. He also made pictures of me. So he was a driver, tourguide and photographer. Really an incredible expierence.
Very clean, very friendly, very cheap (breakfast worth 50k and coffee worth 35k included)
Very fair diving rates, flexible and responsive staff.
Most dive sites are right in front of the door.
We did a day trip to the manta point at nusa penida.
Very clean pool and quiet place
Segarah Tegah Tulamben is vey well located, pretty close the ship wreck beach and 30 minutes driving from the Temple Of Penataran Agung Lempuyang, where the famous Heaven’s gate issues the place is very quite and surrounded by a very green and peaceful garden.
Amazing views, luxurious stay, the resort is so beautiful. Has everything you need at good prices. Everything is provided, from the scooter rent to the scuba diving, dining, tours etc. best thing was to have unlimited access to the drinking water in the room.
best rooms we had during our trip. the staff is nice and helpful. you can eat well there wifi is perfect
diving spot are accessible through the beach in front of the hotel and diving center are just beside.
we were sad to leave this place
It's a good for value hotel in Tulamben area. Their restaurant serves good quality food, do try their "Ayam Plecing" is one of the best so far, don't forget to mention the spiciness level. The staff were all friendly and ready to help you.
We had a perfect week in Toyabali,
Villas are beautiful the garden is serene, you can here from anywhere the waves of the sea.
Made and her staff are great hosts and we thank to all of them for making us feel great during the whole week
We had the suite with private pool and the rooms were nice and clean. The property has access to the sea, however there is no beach for sunbathing if this is what you are looking for.
The restaurant there probably served the best value and freshest food in the area.. very nice pool . Great sunrise view. Nice. Good value for the price...it was very cheap and good
Relaxed place, quiet area and on walking distance to the beach. Their diving center is nearby.
Rooms are built in an authentic balinese style.
Comfortable bed.
Amazing ocean view in the morning and relaxing vibe at night. Food is enjoyable. Reccomended if you want spent some relaxing time with friend or family.
