Sukhothai old city is an absolute must for any traveler to the north of Thailand, Just as Chiang Mai is supposedly. We didn't have enough time. It is an archeological wonder, ancient and a great education on the beginnings of Siam. Stay 3 nights. First night eat in town. Day 1 Do the museum and main Wat in the old city, and then eat 2nd night outside with the locals at the sidewalk market. On a rattan mat. Wonderful experience. Day 2 Do the main archeological site. Its huge. Rent a bike or golf cart. DONT WALK. Stay out of the sun. Lots of shade, but not everywhere. There are 2 other sites adjacent for separate entry you can tack on if you are really gung ho. Night 3, eat in town again. Laundry, massages, food, is REALLY CHEAP. BUT, you need to take a bus or taxi to get there from New Sukhothai OR PHITSANULOK which is an hour away by car. Which you can get to by train, or plane. If you take the train, its slow, and if you are in 3rd or 2nd class there is NO AIRCONDITIONING AND THE WINDOW AND DOORS ARE OPEN. It could be a great experience, or very bothersome. And dusty and buggy. And noisy. Or take a bus. This is not liable to change anytime soon. Pace yourself, it gets hot as hades in Thailand.

The UNESCO world heritage site in a must see.
The UNESCO world heritage site in a must see. The old ruins are amazing, but for us what was the bonus was the large maintained trees around the park, and water features give an all round old historic, beautiful park atmosphere. There are numerous places to rent bicycles, for very economical rates. We were able to bike around very easily, nice paved roads, and once you are off the main road, traffic is light, so it makes riding around very nice. like a good ride in the country!

First of all, this is a paradise for history lovers and archaeologists. The public security of this small city is very good. In fact, it is not hot for a period of time in the early morning every day, but it is very suitable to cover the quilt.

Its an ancient city and I would highly recommend people to visit it. Most people don't travel to small cities in Thailand but this city has so much ancient history, its a must to understand Thailand and its culture. The king from here started the Thai script and pushed for the language to thrive. Its a must if you visit Thailand.

Sukhothai is a nice city nested in an enchanting greenery region. If you like nature, splendid trees, historical ruins, legends, people smiling, good food and a relaxing atmosphere... it is the right place
the property was extremely clean and spacious especially our rooms. The pool and the garden were well-maintained. It is located in the only 1 km away from the historical park, which is the highlight of the trip. On the one side of the hotel lies the ancient ruin of the temple that can be accessed directly via the hotel’s gate. Staff were kind, friendly and immensely helpful.
The hotel has beautiful garden, spacious individual bungalows, a great pool and a nice lounge and breakfast area. The staff were very helpful and booked us a ride to the train station. It's like a little paradise in the outskirts of the historical park. Good and quiet location, the historical park is easy to reach by bike. Bicycles are available free of charge.
Great option for exploring Sukhothai. We rented bikes from the hotel, which was an easy ride from downtown and the archaeological park. Room was lovely and very clean and comfortable. Nice pool (could use a little more shade). Nice breakfast, wonderful staff. They helped us arrange a transfer to Phitsanulok airport for our outbound flight.
I highly recommend staying in this hotel. For a low price you get a clean private room and bathroom with airconditioning. The location is excellent.
Prab (the owner) is very helpful and knows Sokhutai inside out. He gave me tips and even showed me his favorite places.
As a solotraveller I couldn't ask for more.
Have stayed here multiple times in Sukhothai. The owner is super kind and helpful, and they do a great job switching up their breakfast menu so you don’t get tired of it if you’re there multiple days. Amazing location as well—right by the heart of downtown Sukhothai, but quiet and relaxing too.
Perfectly good hotel. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Good rooms, everything works well.
The host was very helpful and kind.
Location is good in new Sukhothai, you have nice restaurants and bars near by, and are close to a bus stop to the national park.
We loved everything about our stay at Baan Georges Hotel. Luc is a fabulous host. The location is perfect for visiting the Sukhothai Historical Park. The accommodation and pool is beautiful and breakfast is delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough.
This is the best hotel for visiting the ancient city, Good bikes are available from the hotel and the hotel is within easy distance of the World heritage site.
Rooms are very comfortable, there is an excellent pool.
The food is standard.
The room is clean, quiet. The hotel is well located, a short bicycle ride to all old Sukhothai attractions, restaurant, bus station to Chiang Mai/Bangkok.
Good breakfast.
Helpful and competent staff.
good Thai massage is also available.
rooms quiet and with interesting design. good location for the historic park & the amenities of the newer town. food in restaurant was amazing but breakfast was so so - cold eggs in the buffet. bed large & comfortable. owners very sweet
Serene place near by Sukhothai historical park. A cosy design villa among small lush garden. Large room, large bathroom with a separate bathtub and shower. Staffs are very humble and helpful.
THB60 tuktuk to Ancient City entrance is convenient and reception happy to arrange. Hotel grounds are pleasant, breakfast ok but could add muesli. Good restaurant and cafe walking distance.
The owner and staff were wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast was very good. Having the bikes to explore Sukhothai Historical Park was extremely helpful.
Perfect location, near the ruins of Sukhothai. It is extremely convenient to be able to take the bicycles of the hotel. The personal were just the nicest!
