We came to trek the National park, when booking your treks ensure you ask distance and route. We did this and booked. We walked twice the distance and didn’t follow the route advised. Please be mindful of this. The road out of the National Park is a dirt track and not a road. It is very dangerous and narrow in places with horrendously big drop offs to the side, that has no crash barriers. An unnerving passenger experience. The night market is small but packed full of products and tasty food. There are local delicacies too. Personally I would avoid the @Dokchampa Hotel, it was unbelievably filthy with phlegm on the walls, we received a partial refund and stayed in the @Tuliphotel. The Tulip Hotel modern & tastefully decorated hotel, 7km from the centre, the hotel offers a taxi service for a small fee. I highly recommend The Tulip. We had wanted to kayak but visiting in February meant the weather had been too dry for too long and the river levels were very low, so not possible. For the same reason we missed out on any magnificent waterfalls, which I’m sure are there, in the wet season or just after it. We did not experience any burning season, February 12-16 2924

Luang Namtha was the starting point to our trekking trip , If I was not intending on doing a trek I would not come here. It is a small town of very little interest . It has good accommodation and some good restaurants. There are a few things you can do here other than trek but the trekking is the highlight

Brand new hotel very modern and comfortable rooms with IT TV. Staff was very great and taking care of us. They gave us all information needed to visit Sing District (one day trip) and Luang Namtha. Specially for us they provided motorbicycle as well as schuttle service to the train station. The hotel restaurant ofers breakfast on your choice and quite wide menu for lunches and diners. This hotel is realy worth for recomendation! Thanks you guys for making our hols extra ordinary!

A new hotel with a lovely host who made you feel welcome, combined with a spacious room looking over the fields. On the grounds was also a restaurant/bar with good food and cold beer. All of this located a bit on the main street which made for a quite rest. Plenty of room for parking and safe as well.

The staff helped us to book a jungletrekking. That was very nice. He also booked train tickets for us to our next destination which was very nice. We also had some souvenirs that we wanted to send to another hotel where we would go. He also helped us a lot with that. The service was very good.

The personnel at this new hotel was very friendly. Mr. Phap was most helpful. He spent quite a bit of time with me to describe the location and the activities around.
