This finca is so well done—delicious bedding, quiet without being boring, attentive staff that show up only when you need them. Breakfast is fantastic. An example of their attention to detail: I said I wanted hard boiled eggs every day and there they were, every single day. This seems like a simple thing, but someone took the time to write it down so that no matter who was working that day, they knew what I liked for breakfast.
Sol Milanos Pingüinos is set right on the 1.6 mi-long Son Bou Beach. This well-equipped hotel features a large lagoon-style pool and rooms with balconies.

This place is amazing. The grounds are beautiful. Amazing views. The breakfast is fantastic. The rooms attractive, comfortable and clean. Such great amenities. The owners are so kind and friendly. The dinner is hands down the best I had in Menorca. I can't recommend this place enough. Stay here!
On average, it costs $100 per night to book a 3-star hotel in Son Bou for tonight. You'll pay around $173 if you choose to stay in a 4-star hotel tonight, while a 5-star hotel in Son Bou will cost around $554, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
This is my second review. We reported a boiler or hot water tank problem at 1.30 am. It woke us and the noise and overheating plug worried us.
In the morning we had to insist to be offered another apartment by central reservations. I asked whether they had had similar problems previously. I was told not. I have just seen six other guests had reported "boiler" problems by searching the reviews. I wonder what I might find by searching "tank". Then one could try translations into various languages.
I do not appreciate being lied to!

Son bou is a fantastic place to stay.
Son bou is a fantastic place to stay. It has something for everyone. There is good restaurants of various food choices. The beach is easy to get to and it’s beautiful. We love the Kitcat Bar as they have entertainment a few evenings a week. They do a Quiz and in high season karaoke. All sports are played on the various TVs. It’s run by a wonderful friendly family and they make you feel very welcome. The food and drink is excellent too.

Food selection both for breakfast and dinner were great!
Food selection both for breakfast and dinner were great!
Hotel has a minibus that takes guests to the beach every half an hour (with a break during the lunch). This is great as the hotel is up the hill, the walk is not too long but can be challenging for some people.
Nearby beach is long and sandy, with options to rent umbrellas and sunbeds. It can be busy at times. Waves are often high, so swimming can be challenging.
There are a couple of restaurants near the beach, with reasonably priced decent food, in case you wish to dine out, but the hotel restaurant is much better.
There is a bus stop near the beach where you can get the bus to go to towns across the island, some direct and some with change. Buses don't go often, and there are very few of them on Sundays, so plan things ahead if you wish to venture out.
Daily boat trips on the island are often sold out, as there are only a couple of options available on the entire island, so it is recommended to book trips before arriving on the island, as the prices are fixed.
Renting a car can also be challenging, and it is recommended to check options in advance.

The beach was very long and it was easy to find space away from other people if you wanted to. It was end of season though so probably very packed in peak season. We didn’t like the restaurants in the town - we tried three different ones during our stay and the food was decidedly average and overpriced.
It’s unlikely that we would return to Son Bou apart from going to the beach possibly.

Son Bou is a beautiful area with a great beach.
Son Bou is a beautiful area with a great beach. It’s a very clean area and has beautiful weather, even at the start of October we had clear blue skies and 26°c, perfect for sunbathing and swimming in the pool. I recommend staying in Valentin hotel.

A lovely village with beautiful views, a few supermarkets and the odd 'club' but nothing too hectic. Some nice restaurants catering mainly to families. Gorgeous beach and lots of hiking available. Beautiful marshland protected from over-development.
It felt relaxed and friendly.
We used the bakery every day and ate at Allesandros which was excellent.
I was extremely glad that some one called me back when I arrived at the Son Bou Gardens reception office. The reception office was closed at the time. I do not remember the ladies name, but she was very nice and came quickly. She provided me with the keys and gave me a tour of the apartment. I arrived in the off season, so I expected minor problems. I would recommend Son Bou Gardens to other visitors. My advice for over seas visitors, call or send an email before you get there to confirm your reservation to make your arrival more smooth.
Host was in contact with us frequently on the day of arrival so it was easy to arrange a time to collect the keys. Nice and private location with lovely sea views. Lots of local shops and restaurants within walking distance. The pool is a good size but quite deep if you have small children. Plenty of sun loungers for a larger family. Handy washing machine and drying area off the kitchen for all your towels. A week wasn't long enough as I wish I could have stayed longer. The sunset beach walks were amazing.
We really liked to stay here for a week. The hotel is located very near the beach and has amazing views from higher floors. Although the hotel is not new it was very clean, room service cleaned the room every day which is nice. There were also great activities at the pool such paddleboard yoga/pillates, pool biking, fitness. We had half-board, there were plenty of choices for everyone. Really nice hotel and great place to be. Son Bou is beautiful village to visit.
Thr Villa was beautiful, very spacious, clean and had good amenities. Pool was clean, outside area was clean too. The place was also given a mid week clean which was great. Had enough crockery and pots and pans for a self catering holiday. We were also left a welcome pack with tea coffee, wine bottle and breakfast items. That was very thoughtful. Communication before arrival was very efficient and informative. Highly recommend.
The location is great, up on the hill in Son Bou with a wonderful view over the dunes to the sea.
The property was neat and tidy, plenty of space, the balcony offers sun, shade and views over the garden and down to the sea.
The pool was private and perfect for a refreshing swim - might be a bit small if there were 6 of you in it.
Perhaps the best hotel in the Son Bou area. We stayed in one of the apartments and loved it. Breakfasts were amaaaazing. So so yummy! The staff were so incredibly friendly! I loved the spirit of the staff in charge of activities such as yoga, archery, aqua gym, etc. Thank you for making our stay so nice.

Great location and pool , good view from balcony main positive is the great value for what you pay, more private than a apartment for not much more money. Menorca rentals are a excellent firm to book with and been staying in their properties years.
Good location and facilities. Menorca Vacations who manage the property were really outstanding. The service they provide exceeds what you would expect. Son Bou although compact is really nice area for a relaxing family holiday.
we are visiting Valentin Son Bou for the second time.
very nice hotel with good facilities and friendly staff.
especially we like the location close to the one of the
most beautiful beaches with crystal clear water.
We liked pretty much everything, especially the pool and the staff at the little bar/restaurant by the pool. Although the service can be slow, the food is amazing and easily rivals any other restaurant in Son Bou.
Lovely villa in the furthest part of son bou. Air con was great. Lovely spacious outdoor area and pool. Regular pool cleaning and staff were polite and knocked to let us know when they were coming around to do so.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Excellent location to Son Bou beach (5 mins by car, 15 mins on foot)
- A couple of excellent pools
- Great family environment
- Good options for shopping, restaurants & bars
The house structure and dimension.
Very fresh even without air conditioning (but for 2000 eur week they should install it).
Nice forniture and decoration.
Son bou is a good location as a base in Menorca
The staff at check-in was very friendly and helpful. It was a good start to our holiday. The house was big enough for the 4 of us for the 10 days and very comfortable.
The location was perfect, we had the swimming pool right in front of our apartment and the beach was on the comfortable walking distance. We did not book any boarding.
