It was our first accommodation on Cape Verde and even though it was a bit pricey compared to other options, I am happy we chose it for starters for the least possible cultural shock :) It is very modern, clean, organised with the most amazing breakfast buffet full of local and traditional goods. The choice of fresh juices was insane and i was falling asleep looking forward to the breakfast. And the coffee was very good too. The owner came to speak with us during our breakfast and explained us about the dishes we were having, which was a nice touch. The AC in the room was very helpful for transitioning into tropical climate and the thick curtains made it possible to sleep off the jet leg a bit longer in the morning. The staff spoke english and was very helpful with everything we needed like car hire.

I would have spent 3 days there maximum and spent the other 4 days in Tarrafal, instead. In general I enjoyed my stay there, but Tarrafal it’s a different world, where you can actually feel the culture and be surrounded with beauty. Cidade abelha is also a must and it’s absolutely beautiful. I would have loved to manage to see the typical ceramics, but people don’t talk much and don’t value much (unfortunately). I actually went to Sai Domingos on purpose to see it, but the locals said it was closed.MarlenePortugal - 10Scored 10

I loved the sun, the water, the history of the people, the moutains and the rest of the land, the beaches, Tarrafel and the kindness of the people. IT was a positive surprise.
IT was a positive surprise. Cape Verde is a great place to visit. Great sea front restaurants Street Art Nights are filled with fantastic music and rich food. Some great beaches in the outskirts Of Praia. Visited Tarrafal and Assomada and Cidade Velha for its History and beach . « Portondi nos ilha « was also vert interesting place visited. At Cidade velha we stumbled at Batuku ,a restaurant where we had the Best grilled garopa ever. Great funNeto - 8.0Scored 8.0
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde.
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde. The Santiago island is not the best if you are looking for a great beach experience. There are other islands with easy access that have superb beaches. We did a tour around the island which was interesting visiting Cidade Velha and Tarrafal as well as Sao Vicente. Tarrafal was a nice beach. The two main markets in Praia are a must see, also where you can buy some mementos.

Praia is a small "African" town, where you stroll around and enjoy the moment. There is actually nothing spectacular to see, but as a whole it is quite enjoyable. We walked thru Plato and along the beaches (Quebra Canela and Prainha). The restaurants there are really great: good food and nice view! We were looking for a nice hotel near the airport that was affordable and this was exactly it. We were also surprised to enjoy breakfast in a lovely terrace. As a sign of the incredible staff we checked out but forgot to return the key as we were in a hurry, we realized at the airport and were going to head back but the hotel already sent somebody to the airport to get it back and saved us the trip, great great staff.
