Great location with free parking, so you can park up and explore Matlock bath before checking in. The room I was staying in was clean with a nice bathroom and shower.
Rich in original character and traditional charm, this cosy 19th-century country inn offers good beers, great-value food and comfortable en suite rooms in the converted former stable block.

Very welcoming staff. Had a problem with the room above us playing very loud music and it was sorted immediately. Wonderful stay will definitely recommend.

Matlock Bath has 24 fish & chip shops (!!!), a couple of traditional pubs and an excellent Indian restaurant, The Balti.
For fine dining, go to Stones in Matlock itself. Fabulous!
Traffic is awful at weekends and especially Bank Holidays.
Cromford Mill is a must visit (with the volunteer tour guide).
Famous bookshop and great Chocolate Shop also in Cromford.

Unfortunately we were here for a family funeral. We have been to Matlock and the surrounding area before and would certainly stay at this accommodation again. It was very central. This is an ideal location to travel around and is very cost effective.

Matlock Bath is such a beautiful place , the views, the walks, and a lovely restaurant called The Seafood Cave and Grill. The food here was omg so fresh and tasty! Would definitely recommend this restaurant, not cheap but worth a visit. Some of the other local pubs ran out of food on a Saturday afternoon which baffled us to be honest? Lots of fish and chips available which seem to appeal to motorcycles. The walks are beautiful and the heights of Abraham are well worth a visit.

There are a lot of things to do in the area and lots of lovely countryside to walk in. Wirksworth and Ashbourne and Cromford are great places to visit. Dovedale, Chatsworth and Bakewell are not far away either and Carsington Water is only a 15 minute drive.
Studio 2 provided a great little stay for one night, all the facilities you would need were there and it was clear the owners had thought about this.
The owners had warned us about road noise but honestly after around 10pm there was very little and we both slept well after a day of hiking and eating too much food.
The studio is perfectly situated for walking into the centre of Matlock and getting parked on a side road was really easy, even on a BH.
Such a great setting for a hotel and location was great for going into Gulliver's Kingdom itself. A few hills that require actual hiking to get up and down them however, worth it when Matlock Bath is down at the bottom (you can also leave in car and return if you can't be bothered with walking). Entertainment was on for the kids in the little clubhouse which was a bonus, the host had heaps of energy and did well keeping everyone engaged.
High Tor Hotel was well situated for our visit to the Peak District. The staff kept the restaurant open for us, despite us not deciding to eat at the hotel until 19:45. It would be possible to walk to Matlock or Matlock Bath (1/2mile in each direction). The continental breakfast, included in the price, was reasonably extensive. The family room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.
Great location. It is a short walk down the road to the town and local restaurants/hotels. The station is even closer if you want to go to Matlock Bath to experience the Heights of Abraham or Cromford for the Mill complex. Arrive by train or bus to Matlock Bath and the cable car is discounted. This is a quiet location with welcoming hosts who provide a marvellous breakfast to order.
We had a four night stay at Matlock Spa. Lovely, new, well equipped apartment. Easy walking distance into town for restaurants in the evening - Thailand Number 1, very highly recommended. Sainsburys is practically on the doorstep. Perfect base for exploring the Peak District. Very quiet at night, we slept really well.
Location ideal to explore Matlock Bath and the surrounding Derbyshire Dales. I was in the area for a half marathon and the hotel was ideally located for that event. Bed was very comfortable with a choice of pillows to suit. The breakfast was beautifully prepared and served fresh to order
We had the kingside room which had a four poster bed with amazing views of the matlock castle. The bathroom was also very nice and very big with a walk in shower. The food in the hotel was excellent and the staff were very helpful and there was a wide range of local ales for sale.
Situated between Matlock and Matlock Bath and central for visiting the Derbyshire dales. Within a short walking distance from Matlock bath and it's facilities. Great if your a walker, with walks from door. Clean and comfortable. Helpful and friendly hosts, and a great breakfast.
Situated in the middle of Matlock Bath this is a lovely hotel.
Our hosts made us very welcome and the COVID-19 measures were really good.
I do have to say that the ‘bacon buttie’ along with the ‘porridge’ at breakfast was wonderful 👍😀
Great Hotel. Very accommodating staff from helping with registration, tending bar, carrying bags, serving dinner and just being genuinely nice in their busy day. Clean bathrooms and comfortable beds.
The hotel has lovely views and grounds, the staff are really friendly and very accommodating, we took our dog, and would highly recommend it for dog owners, would definitely stay there again
The hotel is in a perfect location stuck right between Matlock Bath and Matlock Town. Which gives you a better scope for eating out and gives you a choice of directions to head in.
