The bed was absolutely lovely it felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. Loved the decor that included indigenous works. The gardens had lovely native westringias and correas. I liked the set up of the room and the shower was nice and warm.

The town is worth a look around, particularly if you are interested in Australian history. A walk down Sheridan St is well worthwhile.
Poets Corner Motel is good as an overnighter or perhaps a couple of nights although the current owners have not opened the restaurant.
There are other options, including the Criterion Hotel.
Petrol was cheaper by 10c per litre than most other sites I saw in NSW.

This is a great halfway stop between Sydney and Melbourne.
It was my second stay and will book nxt week for my trip home.
The staff are extremely helpful and nothing is a bother.
My room was spotless and had all the amenities I needed.
Also it is in a great location, being close to supermarket and restaurants.

Very disappointing.
Very disappointing. Got to town at 3pm on a Friday afternoon and the entire town was shut and nothing to be found except a rather dark pub with awful coffee. Absolutely nothing to do. The one great thing was the restaurant the Little Blue Ducks at Tumut which was exceptional. I would stay there rather than Gundagai.

It was clean and basic.
It was clean and basic. Parking is directly in front of the room and it’s all on the ground floor . I had a room for a stopover driving between Sydney and Melbourne and the return journey. I paid the same price for the night but the 2nd stopover the room only had a kettle ( no microwave like the first) and was situated near the laundry so I could hear the washing machines for several hours that night -

This small town is charming.
This small town is charming. Located among hills with wonderful views from the upper area.interesting architecture well documented on a historic walk guide
Helpful information provided at several key sites about buildings, events or customs eg the gathering round the local group of First Nation peoples Easy walking in the main street, a car to tour the town for grand old houses.
highlights are the restored railway station and the museum which covers a lot of ground
We self catered from an excellent Woolworths, coffee and buns from the main street

Gundagai is an old historic town that we visited for 2 days.
Gundagai is an old historic town that we visited for 2 days. We explored the old gaol which was a self guided tour with audio headphones that you paid and picked up from the information centre. It was very interesting. We also visited the pen museum which showed all the old pens over the years and the gentleman there told us about how he came to get volume 1 of The Age it's the only one in existence it had nearly been thrown out to the tip. Be warned he does like to talk but was worth the visit.
The rooms were exactly how they are pictured, with air-conditioning and ensuites. The pool has a toddler area which was great for myself and my daughter. Surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains and lovely staff! A real family friendly environment. We ended up staying for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Also dog friendly! We left ours at home this time but if we're ever in Gundagai again we know where to go 😊
Nothing could fault our experience. It was exactly as shown in the pictures. For a small country town it was 5 star: The bathroom was spectacular, the room was beautifully presented and well laid out, the sofa bed was the comfiest ever, lovely soft Sheridan towels, it was so peaceful and tranquil. Would return certainly again if we ever drive through Gundagai.
Cabins all had space between them. Front deck spacious, generous size to sit at table and chairs. We didn't use the undercover parking for caravan/ campers. Each had their own amenities block. Public barbeque area looked well maintained. There is an ample camping area at the public swimming pool end of property. Easy after hours check in.
Location in south Gundagai is a short drive from the main town centre. Old, retro motel with comfortable room, The room had everything needed for a short stay including fridge, microwave, and good TV. Pleased that the windows opened wide to get the fresh air. Wish there had been time to swim in the above ground pool!
This motel is always very clean. Welike the new digital arrival system and digital code for the room door. No more picking up and doing of keys. The Gundagai Motel is great value for money. Close to the highway without a lot of traffic noise. It's a great halfway stop over point between Sydney and Melbourne.
Well presented, clean and comfortable. Ideal stop between Melbourne and Sydney.
Close to the Freeway but traffic noise hardly noticeable.
Short drive into town where the pub grub at The Criterion was very good as was breakfast at the Coffee Pedaler where the coffee was just excellent.
Nice town, Gundagai.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was convenient to have a good food outlet within the hotel. Bathrooms were clean but again lacking in any "furniture or shelves" to place/sit. Reminds me of a military shower cubical or one at football club change room (where they do have bench seats).
Handy to town & shops, pubs, clubs & restaurants. The motel unit is large & airy but well insulated from outside traffic noise from the Hume Hwy. It being mid winter when we stayed but we were warm & cosy. Very comfortable.
It was very clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and very helpful providing information about Gundagai. It is a short walk from the property to the Main Street and restaurants.
everything worked- apart from the fact we could not find the stove top lighter. our fault. same colour as utensils. provided all bathroom bits and pieces just like a good hotel
Great old hotel with renovated accomodation.
Clean, warm very comfortable with everything required.
Bistro was also fantastic with delicious meals and so well priced😃
Great country pub accommodation, exceptionally clean, lovely old building that felt loved. Shared bathroom clean and decorated to suit era. would stay here again
Lovely big room and very comfortable.
Great location and appearance from the outside, gardens and grounds kept really nice.
Would highly recommend this hotel.
