Comfortable bed in our room, better than the rest of Vietnam! Take a room in the back, it's much more quiet. 1 dog barking once in a while during the day, but quiet during the night. Great breakfast, hot water, perfect, I would come back and recommend!

The host was really friendly. After some miscommunication about the booking he offered me a generous discount on the room and even gave me some medicine for my cold. The location is good, quite close to all the restaurants and shops but rather quiet. It's a little up the hill which is something to consider if you have a lot of baggage/mobility issues.

There is no beach in the bay. You have to travel further afield. It would be good to know when your chosen hotel/accommodation is on a steep hill.
Cat Ba has a great little market, a few good restaurants, good foot massage and friendly folks

Cat Ba is a nice spot to just chill.
Cat Ba is a nice spot to just chill. There is good accommodation around and lots of eating place to choose from. You can also spend 8 hours cruising on the bay if you wish with lunch included. The cruise was very enjoyable. Oasis restaurant on the main street is a great place to eat, drink or have a cup of coffee. The food is great there. They have a pool table there and it's free to play. If you want to go to the beach, it's near the Flamingo Resort which is a 20 minutes walk to the left of the main road if you're facing the bay.

We stayed in a Homestay 10Km outside Cat Ba and just went in to the town for some shopping and for the boat trip. Would recommend staying here rather than Halong Bay--much less crowded and opportunities for other activities eg trekking.

The full day trip on Lan ha bay with canoeing was exceptional - what a magnificent area, clear water, no rubbish and beautiful seascapes.
The hike into the National park was brilliant and well worth the effort. Easy to do on your own without a tour. The two caves were well worth the visit.
Several lovely little beaches within walking distance from town.

I loved the lights everywhere!
I loved the lights everywhere! This town honestly has the feel of a cheerful Ocean City, MD. It's a little honky tonk and a lot of fun. We didn't spend any time at the beaches because we headed to Cat Ba National Park and hiked through the park to the Viet Hai fishing village. Highly recommend!
My stay at Cat Ba Green was incredibly pleasant, the owner of the hotel is a super nice couple, they went beyond my expectations to make my stay enjoyable, helped me to book Ha Long Bay tour at a good price and gave me so many fruits and free water. The room was super clean, no bugs or mosquitoes were noticed, and it was quiet too! The location is quite central, about two minutes to the Main Street, but at the same time it’s not crowded. I really enjoyed staying there and would recommend this hotel to anyone!
Private and secluded beach away from everything. Great place to get away and relax. You can see Cat Ba city across the water.
The food is very good at the resort and the staff is very helpful with any questions about tours and pretty much anything you need help with and their English is very good!
Jack, Shin, Elvis, and Bean were super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They made getting to and from the island seamless.
I will miss those guys for sure!
friendly staff, clean room
- very quick checkin, but if its on weekend you have to wait a bit because Cat Ba are very crowded on weekend
- the tour they offer was very good, but if you want to book it you have to do it the night before
- the hotel also have a cave which is very interesting, and a restaurant in the otherside of the island. The food there was delicious if you want to eat hotpot and grill
- good service for such a price
We had an amazing time at Paradise Cat Ba Hotel! The location is perfect, with stunning views of the bay. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet and the infinity pool. The organized tours were also a highlight, allowing us to explore the beauty of Cat Ba Island. Overall, a fantastic experience, and we can't wait to return!
I can definitely recommend this hostel if you’re staying in Cat Ba. I was in a private room and it’s spacious and very clean. The people over there are very service oriented and share lots of activities you can do on the island. Breakfast is basic, but definitely good. The location is also perfect since you can easily walk everywhere, but since it’s not in a busy street you don’t have any noise.
We went during low season so there weren't many restaurants and hotels open. However, the air is very fresh and quiet.
The people are extremely friendly and always greet you with a smile.
We spent 1 day renting a motorbike to go around the island and 1 day on a boat tour to explore Lan Ha Bay. Great holiday.
Thanks Jade support to me. see you next time. I will definitely come back.
The location on the edge of the floating village was absolutely amazing. Food was great and each meal had so many different dishes. It was nice to be able to borrow the kayaks to go around the bay, and at night we paddled away from the lights of the village and saw some bioluminescent plankton. We could also rent scooters to drive around Cat Ba island one day.
Super clean rooms
Amazing location super easy to walk and get food.
Really easy to hire a bike at the hotel to explore the island.
Mr Ben was extremely helpful with planning our time in Cat Ba. Unfortunately we had bad weather but he helped us find alternative things to do. When we checked out at 12 he let us chill in the room until our bus came at 3pm.
It was wonderful experience staying at this hotel. The rooms were tidy and clean. The view from the room window is amazing. All the necessary amenities were there. Breakfast was also nice. It wasn’t too close to the island centre but motorbike service was available so it wasn’t a problem for us. Staff were friendly. We loved our stay there.
We had an amazing stay at Roza Palace, all the staff were so kind and welcoming and the facilities were great with everything we could need! The rooms were spacious and clean :) The hotel is also in a great location, central to Cat Ba town centre, easy to walk to restaurants and cafes. I'd definitely recommend staying here!
I think this is the only place in Cat Ba Town that actually has chill Island vibes to it - all others are either typical hotels no different than those in any Vietnamese city, or huge posh resorts. The rooms are spacious and clean, nothing fancy, but ok. The bar/pool area is super chill and a great place to relax.
Best hotel in Cat ba island for sure! I cannot express how nice the owner is - super friendly, helpful and accommodating! The room was massive with a great view on the lake. Breakfast was top notch, loved the pancakes ! We loved it so much that we extended our stay to enjoy one more day in Cat ba Island
Absolutely stunning location on a private island. A couple of nice hikes to other beaches. Ocean view from the room and ours had 2 balcony's and a rooftop with sunbeds. Food was good and a great BBQ buffet dinner. Lovely resident dog who came hiking with us. Friendly and helpful staff.
I had an excellent experience.
The staff was the best I have ever encountered especially Hanna who
make my stay very comfortable and help with everything I needed on getting around the island and when it came time to leaving arranged everything for me.

This is a perfect hotel on Cat Ba Island. The staff are super professional and attentive, the design and decor very pretty and tasteful and the restaurant delicious. The infinity pool at the top offers breathtaking views of the surrounding islands.
We really like staying at Joystay. It's a nice quiet town not too far from cat ba town. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Staff we're amazing and really helpful. Perfect location if you want to hire scooter and check out the island.
