Lviv has so much cultural heritage that words hardly do it justice. It was under Polish, Habsburg and Soviet rule before rejoining Ukraine, and all have left dramatic marks. No fewer than 5 cathedrals grace cobbled streets with attractive parks and elegant buildings worthy of Vienna.
Potocki Palace is a grand former nobleman’s home and the Palace of Siemienski-Lewickis is equally impressive. Kornyakt Palace is a Renaissance jewel that became a royal residence, and the Ensemble of Ruska Street is an eclectic collection of buildings contributing to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic centre.
Lviv University is Ukraine’s oldest and was part of an intellectual circle attracting immigrants which earned the city the nickname of ‘Little Paris’. Shevchenka Avenue is named after Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko and a statue of him sits on a square housing the celebrated Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet and Lviv National Museum.
The town hall on Market Square is surrounded by colourful buildings housing shops and cafes, and the castle ruins overlook all of this from High Castle Park.
This is just a snapshot of what the city offers and Booking.com’s great accommodation range helps you discover this and more. The luxury city centre hotels, cheap hostels and apartments near Arena Lviv Euro 2012 football stadium are all easily accessible from the airport.
Lviv is an amazing and vibrant city! Even though there is a war going on, it never felt that one was going on. The people are always smiling and going about their business which contributes to the feeling there is no war going on.
I will recommend the coffee shop Glory Cafe. The place is just amazing! Beautiful architecture and amazing sweets and coffee to eat and drink.
The transportation system in Lviv is extensive. I don't think it is necessary to rent a vehicle at all. All the touristic/historical sites are either within walking distance or a short bus/torley ride.

Lviv is simply breathtaking!
Lviv is simply breathtaking! It's because the mixage of beautiful Hapsburg style architecture, the wide city centre, the old armory, castle hill, cemetery of astonishing beauty combined with so many charming places serving really good food and drinks is so well balanced it's almost miraculous.
It is unbelievable to find so much optimism and strength in this city in a country in war. This fact, which can't be considered unnoticeable, is something that both raised my respect for the city inhabitants as well as strengthened my desire to return soon in spring.
Arnold would say: "I'll be back" and so do I!!

Lviv is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
Lviv is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The restaurants and shopping remind you of Paris. It is completely safe and it should be on a must see list. Catch a performance at the opera house if you can; it is a magnificent building.

So Lviv is quite a nice city in Ukraine.
So Lviv is quite a nice city in Ukraine. It has a bit of a Central European feel - like you are in Austria or Poland. Not surprising as it has been part of both countries in the past.
It has a well-developed coffee culture and a number of very nice Cafes. I tried "MOMENT Lviv" and "SLOW Coffee" for the first time. Other favorite cafe/restaurant picks are Mon Chef (at the Hotel Astoria), Steak House, Cinema Jazz, Veronika, Faust, and the Leo Cafe at the Leopolis Hotel.
No visit to Lviv is complete without a trip to Rynok Square. I recommend Coffee Mine and Lviv Handmade Chocolates for coffee and chocolate respectively, both for purchase and as cafes.
My girlfriend and I both like Thai Massage, and we tried Lilawadee Thai Massage at Svobody Ave, 22 in the Center. The massage was good, pricing was transparent (you got what you paid for) and there was one person on site with good English, although my partner is fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian and Slovak so she translated for me. The one thing would have liked was to be in the same room for our couples massage, which wasn't possible here, but no other issues.
Outside of town - maybe at 45 minute to 60 minute drive, is the EDEM resort. It has a pool, massage services, baths of varying temperatures, an art gallery and a very good restaurant. They also have a hotel but this is jsut a day trip for me when I go. It is VERY relaxing, but there are also activities there also, such as golf, etc. It's expensive, but also very luxurious.

I think Lviv is the coolest little city in Europe.
I think Lviv is the coolest little city in Europe. The buildings are beautiful and historic, many monuments were covered to protect them but this did not matter. Plenty of wonderful statues to see.
Great affordable coffee and beer abound Churches everywhere, St Andrews is my favourite.
I would recommend a language app to ease travel.

Lviv is a beautiful city that reminds me of Vienna.
Lviv is a beautiful city that reminds me of Vienna. Don't need a car walking distance to all sites and taxis are very reasonable. The musicians on the streets and parks are fantastic. Since I'm from New Jersey, I could not draw myself away from a performer who sounded exactly like Bruce Springsteen with his electric guitar. A definite Must Visit City!
Everything was amazing at this hotel, but I just separately pay tribute to the staff. We used to have quite some difficulties during our stay and were amazed to see how people took our challenges seriously and did their utmost to assist and solve the issue. In addition, it was really noticeable how much aligned different services are - reception, spa, restaurant, security. Everyone is on the same page on whatever happens and your requests are addressed immediately. Will definitely get back to Grand Hotel Lviv
I can highly recommend this hotel. I’ve visited almost 40 countries and have stayed in 5 stars hotels quite often and I can say this this hotel is better than many 5 stars hotels I’ve visited. I’m going definitely to stay exactly at the same hotel when i’m in Lviv. The room number was absolutely big, with everything needed, service is great and personal is educated and with a good upbringing, breakfast is amazing, location is quiet, in the center of the city. I felt myself like at home and even better.
The staff was very friendly and suggested different options for late check out, including keeping our luggage for free. The room was clean. The room service arrived unnoticeable and didn't disturb us. It was not a busy week and the hotel was very quiet. It is located in the very old Center of Lviv. There are a lot of options to eat out and relax. It also has a bomb shelter underground accessed by elevator with no need to leave a hotel territory - convenient for people with limited mobility.
Hotel is located directly in the center of Lviv, about 3 Minutes to walk to the opera.
Breakfast is included, thats awesome!
The staff is outstandingly welcoming and kind, they are all pretty young which is great for young travellers.
They speak a fairly good english which is pretty rare in Eastern Europe!
The room is spacious enough and so is the bathroom.
Bed is really comfortable and I was glad that there were enough power sockets.
The location could not be better. The Centre of Ukraine is magical in the evenings. The outside is gorgeous. The inside is picturesque. The pool and spa is phenomenal. The property has a shelter and is soundproof as far as I can tell. But above all, it was the staff. The people here make staying here feel like you are with your family at home. I booked here 4 times in 2 weeks and will every time I am in the Lviv Region.
A perfect choice for travelers who both want to have some privacy and to socialize when they feel like. The capsules are very comfortable and have air conditioning. What is really important during this difficult time for Ukraine, the hotel has its own generator, which is a huge advantage for people who need electricity for their work like me. Definitely I would stay there again.
Ferenc Hotel is an excellent property well situated in Old Town Lviv. The rooms are well appointed and very clean. The restaurant offers very good breakfast. I have been a repeat guest. I always enjoy the staff who are extremely helpful. Victoria, Anna, and Solomiya are very pleasant and efficient reception desk managers who possess very good knowledge about Lviv
Apartments are really great !
The owners were very friendly - they told us where to eat, what to see and so on….
The location is incredible!! Everything is very close : city center , cafes , restaurants, malls !!
Also wanted to add that the apartment is very clean!!
Lviv is the “soul” of Ukraine!!!
I will stay here definitely next time!!!
Food was very delicous and its presentation was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is just near the Lychakiv Cemetary. You can also walk to the. Shechekivskyi Hai Park Museum easily. We were satisfied with our stay and we would like to stay here again if we come back to Lviv.
Highly recommend this hotel in Lviv. Front desk staff all spoke English. The restaurant facilities are superb with an excellent breakfast buffet and outstanding views of the old city. I enjoyed sitting out on the top floor terrace to work and enjoy the view and fresh air.
The hotel is pretty good for its value, provides everything you might need, the staff is very helpful. For those who travel by car - in this hotel you get your own parking almost in the city centre, which is a big bonus in Lviv.
a very nice hotel located in the old town of Lviv.
Staff are friendly, rooms are small-ish but comfortable and well appointed.
I wish i had a longer time, not just a layover in Lviv.
Highly recommend.
All the Reikartz hotels I have used in Ukraine are excellent and this is no exception. Comfortable, very clean, quiet, good staff and a familiar breakfast. First choice for me.
What a great place - given all the stress of living with this terrible Russian aggression - the Ukrainian people have been so welcoming and professional. Glory to Ukraine.
The staff made this stay ok. I feel bad about giving a bad feedback because Ukraine are at war, the people were great most other aspects were not so good.
