Casa da Ferradura instantly takes you back in time as this 300-old house is located in heart of the historic center of the village of Sintra. Casa da Ferradura offers two accommodation options: 1- Studio Apartment located on the ground floor hosting up to two people and is equipped with a kitchen and private toilet, where those who stay feel comfortable and at home. 2- Family Apartment located on the upper levels of the house with a capacity for up to six people. In it we can find a living room with kitchenette, two bedrooms and a private toilet. Both apartments have a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere making people feel at home. The entire property was decorated in a conscious and ecological way, with the main objective of recycling and recovering existing old furniture, because we believe in a more sustainable way of life.
Sintra is a charming historical district situated within the cooling hills of the Serra de Sintra on the outskirts of Lisbon. Hidden among its majestic pine forest, you will discover whimsical palaces, extravagant villas and the ruins of a 10th-century Moorish castle. From the house you can go walking to Sintra and Pena palaces and the Moorish castle. Park da Liberdade is 5 minutes walking with many restaurants, cafes, shops and mini-markets along the way. If you want you can learn to paint, do yoga classes, rent a electric bike to go to the beach. For those who come by car, parking near the house mainly becomes accessible between 7pm and 8am (from early evening until early morning). During other times it is challenging to find parking, but not impossible. You are most likely to find parking spots in the following areas: - Areas adjacent to Hotel Tivoli and Rua da Paco (2min walk) - Museu Anjos Teixeira, Below Sintra palace (5min walk) - Estrada da Peña street above the house (5min walk) - Sintra GNR & Train Station (10min) Alternative option to consider are: - Uber is well supported especially near Sintra Palace - Use Estrada da Peña to drop off other guests at the house
