Parking was free and worked fine, just take a ticket from the machine when entering the lot and activate it on the lobby desk before leaving. Quiet location and a decent mall nearby in a walking distance (100 m) with some restaurants and shops. Breakfast was included and was good enough to energize your day. Plenty of buses shuttle over the bridge to the city center if not in a mood for walking 1,5 km. All in all everything was ok.

Beautiful architecture, lots of green spaces, fairly compact. I participated in two free walking tours (an old town one and an art nouveau one) and both were great. If you're in Riga for just a couple of days, as it was the case with me, this is an excellent way to see and learn a lot.

Riga is a very attractive city with a picturesque Old Town and a newer area which includes many beautiful Art Nouveau buildings. There are many nice parks and green spaces. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants and prices are reasonable. As well as Latvian and Russian, English is widely spoken. Public transport - buses and trams - is very efficient and inexpensive. Walking around is easy though many areas in the Old Town are cobbled and might prove difficult for some. One hazard is people travelling around very fast on e-scooters that are almost silent and can rush up behind you without warning.

Riga is a very photogenic city.
Riga is a very photogenic city. The buildings are gorgeous and there are some great surprises when you explore on your on. I never take an organized tour.
Plenty of restaurants.
I cooked in most of my meals.
But the food in the city is very good.
Walk the Riga Canal! Always beautiful no matter what time of year.
I personally like "Lido" which is near the beautiful Orthodox church.
It has been a favorite since my first visit to Riga.

Just walking around you find the most amazing things, such as a free cello recital at St Peter's Cathedral. Incredible food at such amazing prices. People are just lovely. So easy to walk around, scooter or cycle.
This hotel has a good location, somewhat outside the city center, but with several tram lines just outside.
The tram will take you to the old town in Riga in 10 minutes. The part of Riga, whrer the hotel is situated, Agenskalns,
is quite picturesque with old wooden architecture, some small restaurants and the local market not far away.
The hotel itself have nice rooms, good breakfast and other facilities. It gives a good value for the money.
I recommend it for travellers who want to see more of Riga than just the old, historic part.
On arrival at the hotel, I was upgraded to a junior suite. This was a pleasant and welcomed surprise after travelling for a week around Latvia. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and there was a smart TV with access to YouTube movies. The hotel wasn't easy to find on Google maps, but once you're there it's in a great location near the old town, restaurants and shops. It's also near the river with a short walk to the National library. Bus number 22 from the airport stops near the hotel.
The hotel is in walking distance from the old town and the city center. There are two shopping malls close by, as well as the train and bus stations, and the market. It is right next to one of Riga's landmarks - the Science Academy building, from the top of which you can get a great view of the city. The rooms are alright, all the basic needs are provided. It's a decent value for money, if you don't set your expectations too high.
I had a high floor with probably the best view of Riga! Really had a positive experience at this hotel and could easily walk out through the park and be in the old town. The hotel lobby and facilities were upscale ...I really enjoyed the pool and spa with 360 degree views of the town..and it wasn't busy when I was there so I got to relax in the jacuzzi and enjoy it all to myself!
The hotel is a very convenient location for daily walking journeys as it is near the edge of Riga Old Town as it only takes many minutes' walk to reach Riga Town Hall Square. Also the hotel is near the Central Bus and Railway Stations thus a convenient venue for travelling. In fact it took me a few minutes' walk to leave the hotel and reach the International Bus Terminal.
Grand Poet is located close to the Old Town on a quiet street across from a park. Room was clean and spacious with a comfortable desk to work at. Hotel is very quiet and I slept well. After trying a number of different hotels in Riga, Grand Poet is now my clear favorite. All of the main sites in the Old Town and Art Nouveau district are in walking distance.
This hotel has genuine and wonderful character in an ideal Old Town location - make sure you stay in a traditional room with exposed beams for the full experience. The reception team are outstanding and made our stay in Riga a relaxed and enjoyable experience. The roof top restaurant is a destination in its own right so book in advance!
Lovely hotel. Greeted by friendly staff on arrival, the room was well located to explore Riga and take advantage of the brilliant old town which is around 20 minutes’ walk away. The purpose of our trip was to watch football in the national stadium, and this hotel is around a 2 minute walk from the stadium which was perfect for our trip!
Ideal place to explore Riga. Hotel is located in city center but in quiet area 2 mins away from old town just to cross beautifull park. Very comfortable room, bathroom and excellent breakfast buffet.
Very professional and nice staff. Public, underground parking place 5 mins walk.
I think it is the best option to stay in Riga.
Nice hotel to explore Riga. Old town is a 15 minute walk, but lots of great restaurants nearby. The room was large, with fridge, AC and a large bathroom. The lady managing it was super friendly, let me in early so that I could keep my bags. There is none at the reception sometime, but the call button at the door works.
I chose this because of its location, it is located very close to the main train station, bus stop and Riga Old Town. All attractions are really in a few minutes walk. The room we booked was clean and additional praise goes to the helpful and kind staff. Stay at the hotel was definitely very successful.
Quite typical hotel room, cozy and clean. The hotel itself is very picturesque, with a lot of paintings of Old Town, one of them being actually of Tallinn, not Riga :), and with a really nice inner yard. The staff is professional, everything is fair.
Amazing view of Riga's old town, great room complete with even a small balcony and a bed with a very comfortable firm mattress. Breakfast buffet had great options too. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed my stay.
The hotel is in an excellent part of Riga old town, close to many bars, restaurants and sights, and also not a very long walk from the bus or railway station. Breakfasts are plentiful and varied. The price was keen for quite a nice hotel.
Perfectly located hotel in Riga with nice breakfast selection. The room was good, we had a city view. A/C worked well, it was quiet and clean. The old town is just around the corner and so are the train and bus stations.
Perfect location, close to center, old town, bus stop, central market. Everything inside 5-10min walk.
OK stuff, not the nicest one, but ok.
Nice hotel, clean with Spa.
Woukd definetely come back.
Wonderful hotel. Modern, spacious and very clean room. Great breakfast selection. The hotel staff are very attentive and helpful. Easy access to the Riga old town via bus or by car.
Location is good. It's a few steps to Old Town and some shopping centers but everything is quite close. Staff in the hotel was really nice and room was super comfortable.
Nice and clean hotel for a very reasonable price, close to the old town. Easy check-in, parking nearby (5 eur/ day - which is a good price in the centre of Riga :))
