All the sites were wonderful - Sigiriya (the rock), Dambulla Caves (Amazing - especially cave #2), Polonnaruwa (Ancient City), Elephant Safari saw 40 to 50 elephants - Mothers and their children on a ridge at the very end of the safari! It was a great day to be able to see that many in the game reserve all together. I would spend minimum 3 but really 4 nights up here as the travel day really doesn't count because you aren't running out to see anything until the next day, so this way you have 3 full days to see all the sites and it isn't rushed. Also, you go out early in the morning as it gets too bloody hot in the middle of the day.

Dambulla is a great place to explore, especially if you are a nature lover. Lots of greenery is preserved amidst the cave temples. Frescos at the Dambulla cave temple are amazingly beautiful. Inside the caves are cold though the outside temperature is steaming hot in the summer.
Sigiriya rock is another attraction near Dambulla. It will take a half a day tour to climb up and down but if you want to explore more, the area surrounding the Sigiriya rock garden is vast and can wonder around the rock garden and historical ruins for hours. Good for hikers.
Ibbankatuwa ancient grave yard, Pidurangala (A rock with nice view at the top, situated parallel to Sigiriya Rock are some of other nearby attractions.

First of all we would like to thank the owner and the management for giving us the opportunity to stay at this beautiful resort.
Colin and Ajit did a wonderful job of looking after us
They are hard working, sincere and committed in their work.
Few things that need to be sorted out were the overgrown creeper in the front which is preventing sunlight from entering the front of the house.
Lighting in the room and bathroom need to be brighter. A stronger Wi-Fi would be welcome
Overall an enjoyable stay
Hope to visit again

I was there for two days and the only place we actually enjoyed was sigirya/pidurungala rock which are not even in a city. Tuk tuk drivers are scamming tourist like crazy and there is almost no sidewalk so it makes it very hard or impossible to walk. The golden temple is good to see but I wouldn’t go back. Overall I wouldn’t go back there. I saw it once and that is more than enough. Please note that if places in dambulla carry some religous meaning to you than your opinion might differ.

A centrally located tourist friendly town.
A centrally located tourist friendly town. 65 Km from Anuradhapura, 16 km from Sigiria and Pedurangala, 110 km from Kandy and 65 km from Polonnaruva. Cave temple and golden temples are the main local attractions while nearby Sigiria and Pedurangala provide more adventure, in terms of climbing and view at the top. Plenty of places to eat local food for your taste, just say what and how you like it they will make it. Best places for a rice and curry lunch is on the main roads leading in to town, just outside of town. They serve lunch from noon to two in the afternoon.
Upon arriving I found out that I had forgotten the passports and traveling documents at the hotel in Colombo. Very stupid but immediately Athula, the owner, offered his assistance and next day all passports arrived by courier. Althula also brought us to the cave rock. We used Dambulla to visit Sigiriya and Anuradhapura which was very good from a traveling point of view. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed the location as it is situated in a quiet area. So we had a very good stay also because of the kindness of Athula and his family.
We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay in Dambulla. I love breakfast and these made in Green Village was super perfect.
Also Athula was the best host we met in Sri Lanka. Extremely helpful not only when planning trips around. Unfortunately I had an accident with my back and he helped us to get me to the hospital, spent the whole time with us without any comment and didn’t take a single rupee for that.
One more time - THANK YOU for being such a nice person. We will choose your guesthouse again in the future.
It booked for one night and endet up staying 3 nights, because everything especially the family was just lovely. The room was one of the nicest I had in Sri Lanka and really clean. The breakfast and dinner was also really delicious and with a request not spicy at all. The family helped me a lot to get a around and to explore the area and also offered me to change my sheets and towel. It is heart warming family and if you stay in Dambulla you should definitely stay here :)
If you are looking for accommodation in the heart of Dambulla with a special flair, Krishan and his family will give you a very warm welcome. The rooms have their very own style but are kept very clean. Krishan always had a tip ready and was always available for a chat. His mother also conjures up the very best Sri Lankan dishes. If you want to visit Dambulla and the surrounding area and don't have a driver, Krishan with his Tuk Tuk will take you everywhere.
This hotel is in a perfect location for visiting Dambulla Cave Temples, which are a short walk away. The staff were amazing and really made this a great place to stay. The manager, Siddu was incredibly helpful, particularly in sorting our onward bus travel to Kandy, reserving our seats and getting the bus to stop opposite the hotel to pick us up. We are breakfast, lunch and dinner and the cook, Romesh, made great meals. Lahshu made a good cocktail too!
Lovely family run hotel in beautiful peaceful setting but still a short walk to town. Host was very kind. Drove us to Royal Caves nearby and organised a tuk tuk to sigirya. Room was spacious. Beds very comfortable. Lovely outdoor area with tables for breakfast and relaxing. Breakfast was very good. Big plate of fresh fruit plus bread and a Sri Lankan favourite- a kind of coconut and honey pasty. Wifi great. Great value for money.
We are traveling around Sri Lanka in a rental car - pretty much a road trip! City Paradise Dambulla suits us well in terms of location and budget for someone like us who just wants to clean up and clean bed to rest, then get ready on the car the next day. The kindness and efforts to help out from all the members at City Paradise Dambulla are very impressive making our first trip in Sri Lanka wonderful - thank you :)
Everything was absolutely perfect: from an exceptionally friendly and helpful host who supported us at every moment stay, guided us to the bus station, taught us play carrom and and was easy to talk, to tasty and affordable food, clean and comfortable room and a fantastic location (just next to the main bus station).
Couldn't recommend this hotel more, definitely the best location we stayed in Sri Lanka.
The hotel is located in the heart of Dambulla city conveniently close to the Kurunegala-Dambulla road. Rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. The food was tasty and severed hot and the portions were good and also reasonably priced. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Although it is in the heart of the city very relaxed setup. Overall, its great value for money.
The host picked us up at the bus station (300 LKR)
He suggested a great sunset place and booked us a great tuktuk driver for our 2 days in Dambulla. He gave us an umbrella and provided a knife and cutting board to prepare our fruits.
Breakfast was ok.
The bedsheets, bathroom and room were clean.
Convenient location, near bus stop. It is easy to get to attractions in Dambulla and Sigiriya from here. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Clean and comfortable rooms.
Most importantly, a very friendly and hospitable host.
Great place, I recommend it to everyone.
The villa is beautiful, cosy and looks clean. It's a nice place outside of Dambulla, not too far away from the city centre. The pool was nice, too.
Although we leave a really bad review, it's fair to say that the staff was really friendly and welcoming.
It's one of the nicest hotel settings I've seen in Sri Lanka, and the surroundings are attractive. Friendly staff quickly attended to our needs and made them feel satisfied. The meals were adequate but not outstanding. seen a lot of Italian recipes.
The property situated in a quetly peaceful place, in walking distance to Dambulla bus station. The owner is kindly and helpful, who cares about the guests and the house. The rooms are clean and comfortable with view to a beatiful garden.
Very nice rooms open on a beautiful garden. Very quiet place even if close to the road. It’s possible to walk easily to Dambulla temple. The breakfast was delicious and typical from Sri Lanka.
The stay was lovely and we got a full Dambulla + Sigiriya package (especially by Chandana) for an astonishingly low price in total. We can highly recommend!
