Amazing property, fabulous people and very good food
The arrival point of low-cost airlines with cheap flights to Milan, beautiful Bergamo is a tourist destination in its own right. In the foothills of the Alps, the city is spread over 2 levels. The main sights are in the upper level, or Città Alta, where sloping, cobbled streets open into pretty squares.
One such square is Piazza Vecchia with its sidewalk cafés, beautiful library and elegant Palazzo della Ragione. Through its arches is the Cappella Colleoni, an impressive chapel with an ornately sculpted façade and even more ornate interior. The nextdoor Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore has awe-inspiring frescoes.
Surrounding streets contain several Bergamo old town hotels and B&Bs, while surrounding the whole upper city are 17th-century Venetian walls. There are still remains of the Rocca, the castle that guarded them, and there is also a castle in San Vigilio, a hilltop village reached by a cable car.
A cable car also descends to the modern town, Città Bassa. Nearby is the Accademia Carrara, a fine art gallery, across from the GAMEC modern art museum. The Serie A club Atalanta FC plays in a stadium to the northeast, while southwest is the train station where buses to Orio al Serio Airport depart.
Booking.com has several Bergamo hotels near the airport and the neighboring Orio Center shopping complex.
Beautiful new town with many shops and cafes. And a very interesting old town with 12th-13th century architecture, narrow streets and beautiful churches. It sits on a high hill and has stunning views of the new town.
There are plenty of cafes and pizzerias where you can try delicious pizza and eat a delicious cake.

Visiting Bergamo was one of the most memorable moments of our journey, and I'm eager to share my impressions of this amazing city. Bergamo is a place where every corner is steeped in history, and the air is infused with a sense of Italian charm and elegance.
Walking through the cobbled streets of the Old Town (Città Alta), surrounded by Venetian walls that are part of UNESCO World Heritage, we were struck by the architectural beauty and atmosphere that seems to transport you back in time. The squares, filled with lively cafes and restaurants, offer exceptional dishes of local cuisine, allowing you to enjoy true Italian hospitality.
The New Town (Città Bassa) is equally enchanting, with its elegant shops, modern bars, and panoramic views of the Old Town. The blend of history and modernity, traditional culture and innovation, makes Bergamo a unique place to explore.
However, the most impressive aspect of Bergamo is its people. The locals are welcoming and ready to share their love for their city, making your stay even warmer and more memorable.
Bergamo is not just a tourist attraction; it's a place where history, culture, and modern life merge together, creating something truly magical. I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to visit this city and see its beauty and uniqueness for themselves.

Bergamo is distinctly divided in two sub-cities: Old Bergamo and New Bergamo.
New Bergamo is fine, but nothing special compared to many other Italian towns. Old Bergamo (Bergamo Alta) is a little known Medieval jewel. Amazing. So well preserved, authentic, and yet lively and rich in activities. I was taken away. Highly recommended, and I will be back for sure!

Bergamo was absolutely beautiful .
Bergamo was absolutely beautiful . The Christmas Markets were amazing. The area itself was stunning. I would definitely recommend it to everyone who loves Italy. So easy to walk around the city.
This Hotel was a very pleasant surprise for us as we did not expect the hotel to have such modern and comfortable facilities in the old town of Bergamo, we did not want to stay in lower Bergamo, as a consequence we were prepared to forgo some comforts in order to stay in the Upper Town, the Gombit accomodation we decided on was above our expectations, modern, comfortable amazing size room and fantastic staff. We in fact have to say that this hotel was the best one we used during this four week travel through North of Italy and Paris.
Really lovely hotel in what is a truly beautiful city. Bergamo is a must-visit place and this hotel, which is extremely close to the funicular that takes you to Bergamo Alta (the old town, essentially) is the perfect base from which to explore.
Great WiFi.
Extremely pleasant and helpful staff.
Large, cool, relaxed reception area.
Superb breakfast buffet, beautifully presented and arranged.
Comfortable room and bed.
Directly across the road from the local bus service that goes directly to Milan-Bergamo airport.
We loved everything about this apartment. It was comfortable, within walking distance to the funicular to the old city (and thus on the cheap bus stop to the airport), and quiet. The kind owners left wine, water, and treats for us which was so welcome (we hadn’t planned on staying in Bergamo until the last minute so we had nothing to eat.) tTere is a lovely espresso machine with plenty of coffee pods. The shower had plenty of hot water and the bed was super comfortable. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it.
The hotel was a nice place to stay.
I do not say anything bad about Albergo900 in Bergamo.
Booking.com or the hotel might not post my review, that it is hard to trust hotels now after my horrible experience in dangerous AgriturismoGiroDiVento, Via Cerretino 3226, Sant'elpidio a mare, Marche, Italy, who have not compensated my awful stay there, for being rude, impolite, threatening my safety, the attitude of staff of AgriturismoGiroDiVento, in Via Cerretino 3226, towards international tourist cannot be justified and forgiven.
Arli hotel in Bergamo is 3* hotel, however it behaves like hotel with one more star. Good size room and bathroom with provided all toiletries as needed, Room has good size cabinet and also enough space. Welcome drink provided to clients included also finger food. Good variety of cold breakfast and espresso prepared from machine. Good location with close proximity to Bergamo train station and bus ride to Citta Alta (old city). Rooms equipment is pretty new in classic style.
This is a wonderful place to stay in Bergamo. Would definitely come back. The place in well organized with reception, shared patio to hang out, luggage room and self-service bar. The crew in the reception were extremely nice and helpful, even though our room wasn't ready on time because of a booking error. The apartment itself was well furnished, modern and clean. The location is good, it is very close to Citta Alta, and close enough to Citta Bassa (about 15 minutes walk).
Charming decorations and fantastic location! We loved our stay here. It’s enough space for a famiky for four. Plenty of room for everyone! Comfortable beds and a cute courtyard. We loved the location because it was quiet and a quick 5-min walk into the citta Alta center (uphill!). Plenty of food for breakfast. Parking was easy in the garage nearby. Angela was super helpful. She also recommended good restaurants. We liked Da Mimmo the best!
I liked everything. The hotel was very good, clean and quiet. The staff was nice and helpful. You can reach the hotel very easily from outside Orio al Serio Airport you take the bus that takes you just in front of the Bergamo Station and then it's just 5 minutes walk up to the hotel. You can explore both Bergamo bassa and Bergamo Alta by bus, cable car(the antique one )All in all I had a nice stay in Bergamo.😊
Great location in Citta Bassa, easily accessible to Citta Alta, trains and buses and the airport. A charming family home, with an accommodating and hospitable on-site host. Comfortable room with coffee, tea, cookies and a fridge, neat and clean. A clean, well-supplied shared bathroom. A happy family home, just the kind of place that an old-time backpacker like me looks forward to enjoying.
10 out of 10 for location. Was right beside train and bus station which was brillant. Was quiet area as not typically tourist area but value for money too stay and use transport too explore other parts of Italy. Cita Alta, (old town) nice too explore and you take a cable car up , well worth a visit. The breakfast exceeded my expectations..so much choice. The staff were lovely and helpful.
Really liked the place even though we stayed only for a night. We landed in Bergamo airport, took the bus to the old town then a 20 min walk to the place. It is really worth walking as the views are very nice especially at night. There is a big Carrefour supermarket close to the villa. Very quiet area. Definitely recommend!
I've been to Bergamo before, and now I can say that this is the best hotel I've stayed in. It is not very expensive, it is close to the down old town and it is very authentic!
The bed was soft, the bathroom was clean and had all we need. The host was very polite and ready to help.
Thank you!
This room is one of the most beautiful locations I have ever stayed at, and I have travelled quite a lot. You see the best parts of Bergamo alta from the two windows, hear the bell chimes from just out of your windows, and really get a feeling that you are in the heart of old Bergamo.
A beautiful small hotel near the centre of Bergamo. You have everything needed for the stay in this town. Citta alta is reachable in 20 min by foot, and you are at railway station in 15 min. Parking place is available in a neighbourhood for 10 € per day. Excellent breakfast.
Good selection of food for breakfast. Location of the hotel in the centre of Bergamo was close to all amenities. Within walking distance of main shopping areas and the funicular railway to the Citta Alta (old town). Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Le Funi is the best place to stay in Bergamo, don't even think about it, just book it! The location is perfect, it's picturesque and very close to citta alta. But what makes this hotel the best is staff. They are truly next level!
This residence is absolutely exceptional. It is the #1 place we have stayed at in Italy, or anywhere else actually! The man who designed, built and furnished it was the chief architect of Bergamo. It is a wonderful property.
Perfect location to see old town and the castello (also easy to get here by bus from airport) friendly and attentive staff, cozy, clean and stylish rooms, very nice breakfast... And best aperol spritz in Italy ;)
Great location in the very heart of Citta Alta: The Old historical Town of Bergamo!
Great hosts, cozy place and unbelievable experience: Strongly referred!!!
