To tell you the truth I came here a year ago and I pretty much never gone back. I keep coming back. The cost of living in Egypt is so much better than America. and the food is a million times better. the people are real they just want to be happy . And they're never is a problem really it's just a different type of life and they're happy to share that with you and that's something I want more of for myself and them. Unlike Cairo, Aswan is much slower paced and people are much nicer. The city has several historical sites, temples, and islands. The views and food are amazing. I’m skipping Cairo on my next trip to Egypt and coming straight to Aswan and Luxor.

A very beatiful place to relax and enjoy the sun during winter. We felt very safe and happy. The local market is great it has unique and authentic goods. The philae Temple is great it has spots to take photos and great views. We enjoyed the Botonical Garden very much as it has plants from all over the world. The feluca ride is one of the best things we enjoyed but first you have to agree on the price.

Tombs of the Nobles were really neat if you can make it over to the other bank. Watch out for the camel guys there though. We got roped into $50 camel rides. Aswan was probably our least favorite stop in Egypt. Harassment by salespeople was higher here than at the Great Pyramids, and much higher than Luxor! We couldn't walk anywhere at anytime of the day without a salesperson walking with us for several blocks. And as soon as they were done, someone else would take over. Its too bad, I think the corniche could be a really pretty walk!

Aswan is pleasant pretty city on upper Nile within easy day excursion to Abu Simbel. Don't ride camel at Giza, ride one at Aswan out into the desert. Ride felucca boat around Elephantine Island. Eat at King Jamaica restaurant. Stop to see unfinished obelisk

Everyone was so friendly and helpful.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I didn’t realize that the hotel was undergoing a little construction. It looked like they were upgrading their ramp. This meant we had to carry our bags up the stairs to the lobby. The property is beautiful and has a terrific view of the town and we could see the Nile from our room. The restaurant was very good- we had dinner there. BTW the construction noise never bothered us. We couldn’t hear it at all.

We have stayed 25 days in Egypt and have tried many different hotels and accommodations but nothing beats the Kato Dool Nubian Resort. The staff was extremely welcoming and did everything to make us feel at home. We loved to spent the morning in the resort and in the afternoon we tried different activities that were offered in the resort. The guide Hamou did a great job and showed us beautiful places. Kato Dool Nubian Resort is the best place to stay for an amazing and carefree holiday in Aswan. We look forward to be back as soon as possible.

Perfect in every way. Marta and Osama are kind and generous hosts, helping us out and extremely responsive on WhatsApp. The room is beautiful, clean, with a good shower and comfortable bed. The rooftop looks over the quieter side of Elefantine and is great for breakfast or a beer in the morning. The ferry is close, regular, cheap, and easy, and the island also has the Aswan Museum and ruins of Abu within easy walking distance. There are some nice restaurants close by too. The best place we’ve stayed in Egypt and we were very sad to leave!

Mango Guest House is in an amazing location on Elephantine Island and easily accessible by local ferry. The house is beautiful, clean and staff were more than accommodating and welcoming. They were helpful with booking transportation and have drinks and food available on site. No pressure and friendly people. If you are staying in Aswan the island is the best choice to stay. It is quiet, rich in local Nubian culture and offers a number of small restaurants. 100% would recommend Mango Guest House to friends.

Artika Wadi Kiki is one of the best and most authentic hotels I've ever been to! I would definitely recommend it to everyone coming to Aswan. The staff is nice and polite, the dinner we had was great, but above all, the ambient and the details of this place are amazing. The hotel staff upgraded us from a regular room to a chalet which left us amazed. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, the staff helps you with your luggage. Again, all praise for this wonderful place!

The staff is incredible! Every request is fulfilled with a smile and genuine warmth. Everyone was most helpful! Granted an early check-in as we had just completed a Nile River cruise and a Nile view upgrade. Breakfast was wonderful, with many choices from the buffet and an Omelette/egg station. Lunch was very good as well, with grilled dishes actually grilled on an outdoor charcoal grill. A truly grand hotel from the past. Beautiful stonework throughout.

Good location. Lovely decorations and room is quite new with good view to Nile river with balcony. Service is exceptional, over our expectations at first. Good stop to stay and discover Aswan after some discoveries with long walking in Cairo since the hotel is very quite and made us feel very peaceful with good sleep. Can book boat tour directly from hotel too with reasionable price. Besides, love the hotel's staff and manager, all is super duper supportive.

I would recommend anyone travels to Aswan book this. The host really gives me a real flavour of Nubian life style and he is so good in arranging all your travels hassle free with a reasonable price. Plus the juice is insanely good and internet quicker than 5 star hotel I have lived in Cairo and Luxor. I rarely left any comment but this is a solid recommendation from me, especially if you like me who travels with no clear agenda booked ahead.

Bob Marley guest house isnt just a guest house it's an authentic Nubian experience. I am a lone female traveller in Egypt and I was very warmly welcomed by Ali and his family. Bob Marley guest house is very safe, the island people are very friendly and the food is fantastic. All excursions booked through the guest house are great value for money and I would highly recommend booking here, I definitely will book here when I'm back in Aswan.

Mohamad the owner is a true star. He went above and beyond for us booking all the activities we needed at a competitive price and with honest people. The house itself and it's nice and cosy and has a beautiful terrace overlooking the Nile bits conveniently located a few meters away from the dock and breakfast is very good and comes in generous portions (typical Egyptian breakfast) Recommended 100%

We even forget a jacket in a taxi from Aswan to Luxor and he managed everything to send it to our hotel in Luxor for FREE which is not so common in Egypt! Staff especially Reko is very friend and help with everything such as your or text booking but there’s always room for negotiation. The best thing about the guest house is the view, I see Nile from my window. it’s located in elephantine island which means you will need to prepare 5 Egyptian pounds each time for ferry but it runs every 3-5 min so it’s not an issue.
