I stayed in the dorm and it was a good experience. the hotel is great, very well organized and located, close to the main attractions and the train station. They offer a yummy breakfast too. I would like to thank all the staff, especially Jenifer who helped me with a lot of information and how to get to the train station on time, helped me get money to catch the bus and helped me get in touch with the accommodation I was going to in my next city to make sure I arrived safely. Thank you Jenifer 🙂

The staff was so friendly and helpful! The room was big and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and it was so pleasant to sit and eat outside. The resort is a little far from downtown but is an easy didi ride away. The lake was smaller than I expected, but it was still nice.
I really enjoyed my time here and felt very relaxed!!

Guilin's food and accommodation are really cheap in terms of it's a tourist city.
Nice city to spend few days in.
Compare to Yangshuo and Xingping Gu Zhen, Guilin is much clamer, less commercial.

桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。
桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。临江有闲别院酒店的住宿体验如下:This hotel specializes in scamming and mistreating unsuspecting foreigners. I was placed in a room with over 60 mosquitoes and recorded video footage. Although the staff changed my room, the 2nd room also had over 60 mosquitoes. They take care of mosquitoes better than they take care of guests. The staff then just gave me an electric fly swatter and told me to "deal with it". The TV was also broken. I asked the staff about it and they claimed I "didn't know how to turn it on and was operating it wrong". Even though I kindly asked them to show me how to turn it on, they were absolutely disrespectful in their refusal. I have photo and video footage of not only mosquitoes and flies. Horrific experience, avoid this place at all costs.

Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere.
Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere. The Prince's Palace is slightly older than the Forbidden City in Beijing and has many parts to explore. The climb to the top of the Solitary Beauty Peak at the back of Jingjiang Prince’s Palace at sunset is stunning. Karst scenery is the backdrop to a diverse and decorated skyline. Once darkness arrives, the city comes alive with lights everywhere. Glowing Bridges, boats, islands, ancient relics and the iconic Sun and Moon Temples towering over the water create a carnival for the eyes. Musicians and dancers fill the air and their joyous parades spill out along the walkways. The waterways ring the city and there are boat cruises. The boulevards downtown have wide sidewalks and are tree lined, which makes for pleasant strolling. There are something like 7 different bridges all with different scenic views of the waterways that were once part of the defense system for the ancient rulers. Guilin has been a poplular tourist destination for years, so there are a fair amount of English speakers and hip coffee houses and restaurants. It is also a jumping off point for tours to the Longji Rice Terraces, Ancient Villages and Li River cruises. All in all, we wished we had more allowed more time in Guilin as the people are charming and there were more museums and parks to explore.

Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night.
Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night. The markets have handmade items to buy, lots of sweet mandarins and kumquats as well. The city Centre has a selection of quaint Chinese Restaurants and western bars. Many of the locals speak very good English which makes communication easier. A truly delightful place to visit with many interesting places to explore just outside the city.

Guilin is a very nice place for relaxation, people are very kind and as a small city, all activities are within walking distance. If you want to see the real beauty of Guilin, it's better to go to Xinping where you can enjoy the old town, nice mountains (drawn on 20 Yuan banknote), and river cruise. Also, you can go to the elephant trunk park (make it around the afternoon). Impression light show in Yangshou is not as expected. so you may escape it. Reed flute cave is nice medium-size one, if you have been to another one, you may escape it. All in all, it's worth to visit the city and enjoy nature. Don't forget to install Didi taxi service. It's available in English.

Guilin taxi drivers understand marketing and customer...
Guilin taxi drivers understand marketing and customer service and my Goo Hotel was efficient, but l have passed thru Guilin many times only to find the city beautiful but people in general not really very friendly.... especially if you don't speak Chinese. It is pretty clear that all the people want is your money. l have lived in Zhuhai for 18 years and avoid Guilin other than just passing through on my way to Yangshuo...or Longji Titian. LM sorry.
Comfortable room and friendly staff. The location is few minutes walk from a stunning cave to visit and not so far from Guilin center (15 min cab which costs around 2€). Also good laundry and massage service :) I had a guide who picked me up from the hotel to do the typical hikes and tours which I would recommend for every tourist because it is difficult to do these things alone around that area if you don‘t speak chinese.
This hostel was so great, I totally recommend it. The receptionist gave a lot of information of what you can do in guilin, they also arrange some tours and the price is really good. The rooms are so clean and quiet.tge location is great because there are buses that leave you very close from there. I went to the train station and bus station with my big luggage and it was so easy and I just pay 2 yuan for the bus
Small hotel run by a couple of friendly woman. They kept our big luggage for 4 nights while we went to the rice fields and then to Yangshuo.
Easy to communicate as they speak English, which believe me, is not something you can take for granted in China, not even in touristy areas. For this reason alone, I think this is probably the best hotel to stay at if you don’t like the hassle.
Melody (at the reception) was really helpful and compensated for our inability to speak to mandarin. She organised all the tours for us and was very patient with us. We were upgraded for free and there is free tap water and breakfast included. The hotel is set in a really nice location which is tranquil, though you will need a bike or DiDi to get into town.
Unique hotel, very comfortable beds, hot showers, fantastic breakfast, beautiful interior design, great location beside river and lake park. We had a great night there listening to all the music and dancing on the edge of the lakes. Wonderful helpful and friendly staff, who very efficiently arranged all our activities and tours for us. We will be back.
Jerry, the manager of the hotel, was so helpful since we got in touch with him. he recommended the places to see in Guilin and also tips on how to get to longji and Xingping. the room was very clean and comfy, he even upgraded us for frew and offered us the best coffee we had in Guilin!
checking in was a breeze and location is central.
Location was great, just facing the river, and close to a pedestrian street, with lots of restaurants and food options. Our room's view was stoning! And the room was comfortable and modern. The front desk team was outstanding, very helpful, and helped us with a minor issue we had at this trip. I highly recommend this hotel!
Amazing hotel and super friendly and caring staff in a perfect location. Highly recommend!
We also booked a couple of tours with Jenny from the hotel, she speaks perfect English, and provided a great tour guide (Kevin) for the rise terraces. Perfect service for fair prices. Don't hesitate to arrange your visits with her.
Truly a 10/10 hotel.
The rooms are as described and perfectly functional, clean and quiet.
The staff is super nice and helpful, even supported me in contacting my tour guide and made sure inward all set.
The breakfast is such a highlight and feels so special.
The location of the hotel is good. It is surrounded with many eating outlets and shopping outlets. It has a tour desk counter for day tour as well. Front desk staff is polite and energetic. Breakfast hall staff is polite as well. Room is clean and comfort.
Friendly and very helpful of the owner, comfortable location with facilities of tandem bike, that made us travel around seeing a beautiful scenary.
The owner also help us arrange our tours plus help us bought the train tickets left Guilin.
Perfect staying in Guilin close to North station ( bei) . Whatever you need just ask to Fiona , she speaks English very well and she is kind and helpful. From here you can reach Yangshuo and Xingping with a day trip. Thank you so much!
We needed a place to crash that was close to Guilin North train station. This hotel was walking distance from the train station and the staff were very friendly. The room was simple but comfortable. It completely met our needs.
Lovely room with a comfortable bed (I am used to very hard beds when travelling around Asia). Excellent location in the centre of Guilin, right next to a market street and lots of restaurants/shops. A free laundry room too!
Hotel's located near the bus station, so it is very easy to get to famous tourist destinations. Moutain view room is very beautiful, surrounding scenery also beautiful. Hotel staff can speak English pretty well.♥️♥️
Our stay here was fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and helpful! They did a very cheap breakfast, which was great! Walking distance to the main part of Guilin. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
Very helpful and friendly stuff, crisp white bed sheets and sparkling clean room. Location is great outside of noisy city center in a beautiful village. perfect get away place for couple of nights.
Very comfortable hotel and the lady at reception was so kind to book for us the cruise on the Li River with pick up at the hotel. Room very clean and spacious with lovely view of the river.
Very nice hotel and village (beautifulview and nice restaurants). Not too far from Guilin downtown. Boss is very nice, we got warm. Room was clean and beautiful.
