Super Frühstück, tolle Lage. Sehr schönes Haus und alle super freundlich.
St. Wolfgang is lovely but not pedestrian-friendly.
St. Wolfgang is lovely but not pedestrian-friendly. The town is chopped up by a highway tunnel. The road from the Garni Buchinger hotel into the town is narrow, mostly with no sidewalks and pitch dark at night. There's a lot of traffic on this road making it unsafe for pedestrians. For this reason we had no choice but to drive the short distance into town each night for dinner.

St. Wolfgang is at the bottom of Schafberg and obvius choice to stay. Village is small, very, very nice (absolutely comparable and probably even nicer than nearby and well known Hallstat). Lake view is visible from almost every house, there are a lot of hotels, really nice shops and a lot of restaurants.
Like elsewhere in Austria, note that shops close early and restaurants close at 22h (.there is a single hotel bar opened until 24h, at least that was correct at the moment of our stay).
I had problems finding gluten free products (local supermarket only) and coffee shops which serve lactose free milk (single coffee shop).
Absolutely recommend st. Wolfgang and will likely come again at some point. There is a lot to see and do here.

Nice historical village.
Nice historical village. Possibility of excursions around the lake, sailing on the lake, hiking in the surrounding mountains. Prices in restaurants are higher, as are prices in hotels. It seems to me that some of them exaggerate. (both hotels and restaurants)

the city itself is very picturesque. On the main street there is a pleasant atmosphere - cafes, shops, in general, a resort. Unlike other similar towns, there are many trekking routes, any kind of water sports on the lake, a bus connection to nearby sights and very-very beautiful everywhere.

St. Wolfgang is a lovely small town Just on the lake, with great weather and landscape with view of the lake, green mountains. It has many hotels and several cafes and restaurants, and many tourist shops.
It can be nice base for touring around.
We liked to just walk through and sit by the lake.
super location close to historical town St. Wolfgang, very close to small ferry transfer to other side of lake Wolfgang, big garden, super equipped background (big supper equipped kitchen, living room and terrace for the guests, very clean), playroom for children, ping-pong table, paddle boards, bikes, etc - everything for free. Very nice hosts- the owner "no problem" Magdalena is very nice and helpful. She puts a lot of trust to her guests - "her house is your house". We will definitely come back next year!
Good location about a 5 minute walk into town and same distance to lake where the hotel have a swimming and sunbed area. Cogwheel train and boat service also by the lake. We had a Junior Suite, spacious room with a double balcony and very comfortable beds, with separate seating area. Breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold items - hot items you could order from a menu. Nice large terrace to sit on during the day or evening to have lunch, dinner or just a drink.
This is the nicest place I've stayed in since I've been in Austria. It is located nestled down beside a river about a 10 minute walk from the lake.
The location is ideal if you wish to walk up to the top of Schafberg as the route starts nearby or even to get the funicular which runs close by.
The room was very big and had a beautiful balcony that sat next to the stream that ran a little below. The views are also incredible, a must stay place.
This is the second time I stayed in this hotel.
The location is brilliant. Quiet and straight to the lake. Beautiful lake view, sunrise and sunset. East to go to Bad Ischl, St. Gilgen and Hallstatt. Walking distance along the lake to St. Wolfgang town centre where the shops, Cog train station and Ferry station are.
The breakfast is very nice with options. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful hotel with amazing facilities. We absolutely loved the private "beach" decking area where we could use paddle boards or rowing boats at our leisure with no extra cost. Room was lovely and spacious, modern, clean and with a beautiful view. We were also allowed a late check out with no extra cost which was great- we got to stay longer in Wolfgangsee lake.
Beautiful hotel overlooking the lake. Our room had stunning views and a spacious terrace. The outdoor pool and spa area is fantastic. There is a good variety of food on offer at breakfast and we ate in the restaurant twice during our stay and the food was superb. What sets this hotel apart is the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful and efficient.
This family apartments hotel is just a perfect place to stay in one of the most beautiful places, Walfgangsee. We stayed two families with teenage kids, 7 persons in total in two apartments and all of us were just very sorry that our 5 nights stay in this hotel flew away so fast. Definitely we’ll choose to stay there again in future.
its location is perfect: you get amazing views 360. if you’re into the idyllic Austrian holiday in the Alps, don’t go any further. Paulbauer is a typical beautiful Alpine farmhouse with animals. our kids couldn’t have asked for more: cows, calves, ponies, rabbits, cats, sheep were all available to play with (or observe).
The location in the center of St. Wolfgang was outstanding. Our rooms had balconies and especially great views, which was more important to us than the room itself. The beds were comfortable and the rooms, though small, had two comfortable chairs and a small table - more than we expected in a small room.
We received the first Austrian smile in this hotel after traveling around Austria for already 6 days. Alexandra was incredibly nice with us and our child. In the hall they had lots of toys to play with and their dog is super friendly with our boy. Thank you so much for lovely stay and hospitality.
Getti is the most amazing host, nice and explaining.
The most beautiful and high standard place we were in Austria. Clean and warm - number 1.
The view is spectacular and it is a few minutes away from the centre.
We had a wonderful time.
Thank you Getti and you beautiful family.
The view is beautiful. And that is the best part of this hotel. Breakfasts are delicious with authentic products. Dinner is so-so. We would expect more tasty after reading all the marketing about the restaurant. Staff is friendly.
Very nice apartment, near the center od St. Wolfgang and even near the small entrance to the lake- very good for paddleboard. The host was very kind.
Parking is next to the house for 12€ per day or a little further for 4€.
The hotel was exceptional
Great location great staff room size was good
The breakfast was very good
They waited us until we arrived cuz the check-in untill 6 pm
I will book in it every time i visit st Wolfgang
The house is brand new and really well-designed. Located at a calm area and very close to the schafbergbahn and downtown area. Host Susan is very kind.
The best accommodation I’ve ever had in Austria.
the breakfast was quite good, one of the best I have got through all hotels in Austria. Good ingredients and fresh. Also the TVs were smart tv, things you don't see in many hotels in Austria
Friendly, helpful staff, excellent breakfast, clean room, great location for exploring the stunning Salzkammergut region. The hotel has a beautiful private lakefront and we swam every day!
Views of the lake are amazing. It is just a bit outside St Wolfgang, but it is only a 10-minute walk to reach out to everything in town. Definitely worth the price for the value you get.
