Another standout feature of the farm was the bar overseen by Magnus himself. It was here that I had the pleasure of interacting with Magnus's family, sharing stories and laughter. The welcoming atmosphere prompted Magnus to pick up his guitar, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. The camaraderie and music turned the night into a truly memorable experience. Participating in the Viking Thunder Clap with Magnus's father and the rest of the family was one of the most remarkable moments of my stay. This cultural connection added a layer of authenticity that made me feel like a part of the Icelandic tradition, creating a unique bond that transcended language and nationality. In the grand tapestry of our unforgettable experience at Stóra-Ásgeirsá Horse Farm, my daughter's horse riding adventure added a vibrant and colorful thread. I don't know where to begin. Hospitality is Abba's middlename. Just meeting her made us immediately feel at home. Two lovely dogs welcomed us as well. Very relaxed atmosphere. The room was very comfortable and cozy. Very good mattress, lots of amenities in the bathroom. All day coffee, tea, cookies, chocolate candies. There is a kitchen where you can warm up your food or even prepare dinner. Different kind of oils (avocado, garlic) were available. Also free laundry service. Regarding breakfast we were so much impressed that Abba went into trouble to make vegan waffles and orange/chocolate cake for us. Also a very tasty rice with peas for us. There were also juice, fruits, various kinds of coffee, salmon, eggs, cheese etc. for omnivores. We loved the different kind of beautiful china we could use. I'm sure I forget something but I think you get the idea.

Skutustadir was such a lovely place to stay with my grown children. The atmosphere was incredibly cozy and inviting. The host was kind and accommodating. We had been waylaid 3 times due to road closures and they were incredibly responsive to our needs and rebooked us without penalty, which was a huge relief. (Other properties were certainly not so kind and we lost a fair amount of money on places we never got to stay!) This place was super clean- cleanest we stayed at by far and the breakfast was amazing. I can’t say enough positive about Skutustadir guesthouse. Also, our dinner at the nearby hotel was incredible- their beef lasagne was to die for!!
