Close to Le Morne and other attractions and places worth visiting, 90 min drive to Port Louis. Island is a paradise for botanical enthusiasts, hikers, climbers, fans of all sorts of water sports and beautiful reef fish, encounters with whales, dolphins etc.very friendly lovely locals and I felt very safe at all times, safer than in European many places. Please do book with local people, not all inclusive international resorts without local feel.

Kite surfing ist also the place to be!
Restaurant Chalets Chamarel has a great view. Hard to find. Food to expensive and not good!!

not a typical tourist destination. However, great spot for trips and quiet place to chill before trips around the island - which is pretty easy to travel around. Great choice for families and backpackers like myself

Great location to discover southern part of the island.
Great location to discover southern part of the island. Close to many beautiful beaches, on many of them you feel like a private only for you. The underwater life could be better - large amount of bleached and dead corals in the lagoons. But beyond the reef, they are in a good condition (booking a snorkeling/diving trip definitely recommended).

The village itself is nothing interesting, it doesn't even have its own beach. It's just a busy long road. But it has an ideal location with regard to the nearby beach and Le Morne mountain, the waterfall and natural attractions in Chamarel, or the Casela World of Adventures. Further south beyond Le Morne there are also some very nice beaches.

Much more peaceful that surrounding areas, and not at all overcrowded. Good supermarket. No petrol station, nearest is Tamarin. Much cooler than up north but not as comfortable as the east. Very good choice, all in all.
The most fantastic place in Mauritius - perfect for a couple. Communication was so-so easy with Alvin and the host. The place was wonderful: plenty of space, a gorgeous terrace, a comfy bed, a good shower, a well-equipped kitchen, smart tv, a parking space, a working air conditioner, a supermarket basically next door, quiet neighborhood, and views to die for. Simply superb. I am lost for words. I would 100% visit again. Le Morne beach was also beautiful, a car is helpful but some people were also hitchhiking.
Hotel like experience: welcome fruits and tea and a farewell present, everyday cleaning incl. dishwashing, towels change and toilet paper replenishment.

We've got an upgrade to the appartement and Josh and his family where super nice and super friendly!
Josh was organizing an airport shuttle and a car rental for us. He was available at every time and he and his wife helped us with everything we needed.
If we come back to Mauritius we will definitely stay again at this place. It's amazing!

The building is very nice and well located. My appartment has all facilities. Shower with hot water and good pressure. Very good WiFi. The owner Mr Raaz and his wife are super kind and welcoming. I had some extra need in the room and the were there to help to solve. I am Happy to meet them. Kitchen and bathroom very good. All is there for a good stay in LA Gaulette
Marisa is a very nice place owned by Isabelle and Helen who have been in contact with us since we booked it 5 months before arrival sending all the updated information on Mauritius. Rooms in very good condition with excellent everyday cleaning service. Special thanks to Mario who takes care of this place and was always ready to help us. In the nearby there is a big supermarket with everything you need.
Perfect place if you're spending time in La Gaulette, I loved everything about it. It's new construction so everything is clean and works perfectly. The bed is comfy and the kitchen is well-stocked. The location is super quiet and yes the view from the roof (and balcony) is great. The owner is really nice, good communication and getting the key was easy. Would definitely stay again.

great location and facilities. the room is in a gorgeous building with a beautiful rooftop and pool area. there is everything you need in the rooms and they were very clean and tidy. there is a big supermarket within walking distance, and some great restaurants, we had one of our best meals in Mauritius at Frizzy around the corner.

It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
The owner is really helpful, and he arranged for us the tour to swim with dolphins and whales.
