We stayed in Santorini for 8 days whichw as too long. We did a trip to Crete for only 4 days and should have switched that around as Crete is a much bigger island with more to do.
In Santorini we booked taxis ahead of time for transfers and we ended up catching buses in between which was much cheaper and more fun!
Weather in October was nice but chilly in the evenings.

You never needed to travel for the Sunset while staying at FIROSTFANI! It was the best spot for photos. The restaurants were all equally amazing especially with the views of the caldera. Getting around was not a problem if you wanted to take the bus or catch a taxi. The month of September was pretty perfect since you did not need to deal with all the hustle and bustle of the tourists.

We stayed here in Firostefani for 3 nights. We really enjoyed it. Firostefani is the perfect town to stay at in Santorini imo. It isn't crowded like Fira or Oia. It's not too quiet like Imerovigli either. It has some shops and restaurants, but nothing too busy or noisy.

A really central location with terrific caldera views! Depending on where you stay, there are some places In Firostefani that require fewer steps to navigate compared to other locations along the caldera. There are also some great restaurants at reasonable prices.

I really do not like Firostefani any more.
I really do not like Firostefani any more. I have been there 3 times, the first time in 2005 when I really loved it. The second time, in 2015, I still liked it, however, I would not go back there any more. Too many tourists. Five huge cruise liners would drop off their passengers each day and, together with the tourists staying on the island it became a bit of a nightmare. We did travel throughout the entire island with a hire car, which was great, and also undertook a an afternoon cruise on a yacht, which was fantastic.
The staff makes this property exceptional. From our first greeting by Yiannis, it was evident that the goal of all staff members is to make you feel at home. They take great pride every aspect of the property. The breakfast is served on your deck and is homemade with local ingredients. The location and views are spectacular. Santorini can be excessively busy, so being able to retreat to this peaceful location is very much appreciated. It is close to good restaurants and easy access to Fira.
Upon arrival we got a detailed introduction about the main attractions and information about Santorini. We even got a bus plan and information about how to get to the places and how much it would cost. This enabled us to spend our holiday enjoying and not planning!
The people were very kind and helpful with any problems or questions.
There’s also a decorated terrace with various sitting possibilities to eat outside for example.
I would definitely recommend this Hotel!
The best is the wonderful treat of Nikos and Eva. They make feel you as a beloved friend. Perfect place for a very good price in expensive santorini, placed in Firostefani 14 min walking to center of fira for take buses for going everywhere in the island, very near the fantastic view with the 3 bells church. The big terrace where to eat with the view to the sea is so nice, u can enjoy the sunrise in the sea from the apartment, just very good
The location of Chic Hotel, a little on the outskirts of the hustle and business of central Fira was ideal. On a lovely lane, with great food options and a most incredible view from the balcony of your room. Room was clean and nice, jacuzzi on our balcony overlooking the caldera was an incredible way to start our vacation. Staff was super warm and helpful with any needs. Great place to stay while in Santorini.
We reserved the Family Room at the end of September, and it was perfect for our group of three. The rooftop pool view was TO DIE FOR. Our friends don’t believe the pictures we took were real. Proximity to Fira and Imerovigli made our outings easy. Even though we had a car, most of our time was spent exploring the stone pathways and Caldera trail to enjoy Santorini at its best. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The best hotel and best view in santorini. Our stay was beyond amazing. The room was super new and clean. The location is in the middle and too close to the center. And of course zoe was like a true friend we spent time together we took amazing pictures together and she helped us in suggesting tourist locations. We will come back again for sure. The holiday was perfect. The hotel has a wonderful view over the caldera and is in a strategic position for getting around the island. Having breakfast in the morning with a view of the Santorini sea is a unique experience. The hotel is neat and clean. The staff are friendly and Panos is very willing to cater for every need. I will definitely be back.
Phenomenal view from the shared balcony. The breakfast was lovely and well conceived. As with anywhere in Santorini, it is a bit of a climb to reach the hotel, but the view makes it absolutely worth it. The bed was super comfortable, we had clean towels every day and there was always hot water to shower with. Would absolutely recommend this hotel.
It was a unique experience staying in a cave apartment. Everything in this apartment is quaint with tasty design. The sunset view on the balcony was exceptional. Kostas the host was extremely helpful and informative. I would recommend this place for everyone who is coming to Santorini. Walking to restaurants and minimarkets was also easy.
