Located in Elafonisi, a 8-minute walk from Elafonissi Beach, Elafonisi Village provides accommodations with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a restaurant.
Rooms Kochilas Elafonisi is a small family-run property, 3.1 mi from Elafonisi beach in the village of Moni Chrisoskalitissis. Free private parking is available on site.
Elafonisi is the most overrated beach in Crete.
Super crowded. The sand is not pink. It's a normal sand. The beach resorts are expensive, usually they are full and the chairs are attached. On top of that, you need to walk 20 minutes to reach the sea.

Breathtaking natural lagoon which everyone is coming to enjoy. Get here before the buses arrive at 10 am or come after 4pm when buses leave otherwise I think it is too crowded. Consider staying overnight at Lafo Rooms.

Elafonisi Beach, with its unique pink sand, is undeniably stunning. However, during the day it can become extremely crowded, making it challenging to find sunbeds. Nevertheless, as the day transitions into evening, the beach becomes quiet, serene, and free from crowds, allowing you to fully appreciate its true beauty, especially during the magical moments just before sunset.

What a ZOO!!!
What a ZOO!!! It’s mid October and the place is still super crowded. Cannot even begin to imagine the crowds in July or August.
Crowds aside… it is an amazing place… beautiful, clear water.. great for young families. One can find a bit of privacy across the water on the spot.

A truly beautiful beach, the nicest I have visited in Crete...
A truly beautiful beach, the nicest I have visited in Crete so far. It is also a very valuable and protected natural site. The beach offers a very varied environment. There is classic seating on the shore under umbrellas and bars. Towards the sea you can enjoy the shallow beach and the sea waves. On the other side there is a quiet shallow lagoon with several islets and a sand spit connecting the coast with the island of Elafonisi. The lagoon is just a paddle away. If you go further, the other side of the island is again washed by the sea and there is also quite a nice snorkeling environment. Because of the size and ruggedness of the place, you can easily find a space for yourself. But there are a lot of people. There is little shade on the spot, so the more experienced ones will occupy the better spots first thing in the morning. It's good to have something to protect you from the sun. You have to go back to the beginning for drinks and toilets, so count on that. Plenty of space to park on site, just the last stretch is not a groomed road so watch your tyres.
IT WAS MAGICAL! What a hidden gem of a place. It is simply amazing. There were horses that could be seen from our balcony and an amazing pool which enjoys the view of a sunset. I would definitely recommended, not just for family but also for a romantic getaway. I wanted to extend my stay if I knew what a gem of a place it was. It's also very close to Elafonisi beach. There are cute little restaurants near by esp there is one who is Canadian it was excellent for food. You can also enjoy a coffee in the morning in peace.
Outstanding food and service in this family run hotel outside Elafonisi. Stunning sea and mountain views from the very comfortable and spotless rooms.
We arrived late at night and were greeted in the car park with large cold bottles of water followed by a beautiful supper. Nothing was any trouble for the staff, and the owner, Nikos, dropped us to the beach after a lovely breakfast the next morning.
We were sorry not to have been staying longer, but we started our walking trip that day.
The location is excellent and the room is new, clean and roomy enough with refrigerator and outside area where one can dry towels and swimsuits. The bathroom is small and the shower next to the John gets everything wet. Remove tp towel etc before showering. If you are careful it works OK. If you aren't used to this type If spartan European bathroom you'll be unhappy. The restaurant is adequate but the one in the hotel up the hill 2 minutes is much better
Big, very clean room. Comfortable bed. Good sized shower and bathroom- everything new. Very kind, attentive host. We booked room on the last moment, but even thought he was ready to greet us within few minutes. We received a lot of useful advices. Nice area- few minutes with a car to Elafonisi beach, but nearby there is also another calm small beach. Good restaurants around. Plus for providing good quality cosmetics and bottle of water.
I booked room last minute, for one night. It's perfect for people wanting to visit Elafonisi Beach. 10 min walk and you are by the sea. Can go early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid crowds. Room was amazing with all necessary things. There are few shops nearby with basic food. In resort there is restaurant with delicious food and view on the sea. Would definitely stay there again!
The house had everything! Equipped very well, there where a lot of beach/pool toys for kids. There were complimentary fruits, water, juice, breakfast stuff waiting for us. Rooms great! Pool amazing! We booked the place cause of its proximity to elafonisi beach, but ended up going once there :) one of best accommodation we had. Would definitely book again there!
Excellent location with an amazing view to Elafonisi Beach. Beach was right around the corner. The staff were nice and friendly. The facilities are new - pool, our room was great. We loved our stay there.
The only thing that wasn't clear is where the parking is because you have to pass the paid parking and go through the barrier and then to the left.
Great host- Maria checked us in with welcome drinks and provided valuable information about the area and provided beach towels and sun umbrella for us to use. Upon leaving, she even provided us drinks for the toad! She is the sweetest hostess anyone can ask for! Will surely return one day!
We liked the location in an isolated part of Crete but a short drive to an amazing beach (Elafonisi). The house is airy, with nice sunsets and the sound of cicadas in the olive trees. Very relaxing. The wifi worked fine and the kitchen had what we needed.
Everything was amazing. There is no view from the apartment but it`s super close to the Elafonisi beach. You will walk back and forth. There is also options of restaurants and a market close by. The place is super cute and very new. I recommend 100%.
very warm welcome with a fridge full of fruits and drinks and everything you need in the house (coffee, salt, pepper, seasoning, soap, laundry etc..) the location is perfect with nice tavernas around and the lovely Elafonisi beach. great spot !
Kind and helpful staff
Close to the beach
Very quiet at night, i have enjoyed the porch watching the moonlit sea
Just few meters from the bus stop from/to Chania and to a mini market
Good option for up to 3 travelers
The house is very cute, very new and nicely designed. Hosts are super friendly, we felt like visiting family!
Location is great is you are planning to visit Elafonisi beach by car.
